I just read about ascension in the Bible and it mentions Moses, which means he is in Heaven. So my question is what do those who believe that only Christians are going to Heaven think about this since Moses was Jewsish?

Dear lovely Lady,

God calls all peoples in all times. The way of salvation was first communicated to the Jews and then further explained by Jesus and his apostles. It is just this; we cannot by our efforts earn favor with God. Our limited abilities and orientation towards self colors all that we do. This is called sin. God is a holy God. He hates sin and must punish it. To the Jews he gave the sacrificial system. Innocent animals dying for the guilt of people. This was a foreshadowing of what God himself would do in the person of his son, Jesus. Salvation is now, has always been, and forever will be by faith in God's provision for us, not our efforts.

I look forward to meeting the great man Moses and many others some day in God's eternal kingdom.

Before Christs appearance on earth there were no Christians. But there were people who believed in the one true God of Creation. i.e. Moses, Abraham, Isaac, Elijah, David, etc.

By the time Jesus had come humanity had fallen into dire disrepair. There were still believers but few and far between. After Jesus death was the first reference of "Christians". Jesus had clarified the laws that govern who goes to heaven and who doesn't. Now it is the followers of the ways of Christs teachings that have this privilege.
Since God is the judge of who was eligible for heaven prior to this time is up to him since he is the ultimate judge. If he says Moses is in heaven I say good. I will accept it on faith. And Christ was Jewish. Christianity's history comes from the Jews and Hebrews. It was only opened up to the Gentiles after Christs resurrection. By the way Moses was Hebrew long before the term Jew was used.

Hope this helps mate,

The New Testament says that Jesus is the ONLY way to get to heaven--"No one comes to the Father except through me," according to Jesus. Since Moses never knew Jesus, he can't get to heaven, and neither can the billions who lived before Jesus was born, nor the billions who have lived since then who never heard of Jesus.

Think of this: The Bible, as we know it, was not compiled until 1611, which means that for 1600 YEARS after Christ died, nobody had any idea how to be saved! Even then, the Bible was read by only a few, since illiteracy was widespread. Apparently, God did not deem it important for everyone to be saved, or he would have found a more efficient way to make sure that everyone got the message ASAP, instead of waiting 16 centuries. Even nowadays, there are billions who are not Christians. If God wants to "save" them, then why isn't he doing it? What about people living in remote areas who have never even heard of Jesus, the Bible, or Christianity? What about aborted fetuses, stillborn babies, the mentally retarded, or children who die before they can even comprehend what salvation is all about? I guess they all go to hell, since they can't accept Jesus...or does God make an exception for these people? If he makes exceptions, then Jesus lied when he said that NOBODY comes to the Father except through him. Does "nobody" mean "nobody," or does it mean "almost nobody"? If Jesus meant to say "almost nobody," then why didn't he say it?

Technically, Moses wasn't Jewish.

There was no such thing as a "Jew" back then, only an
Israelite, who worshipped God and His Commandments
(most did, atleast).

From what I read, Judaism as we know it today dates
only from early Roman times, having emerged from
this early Israleite religion, plus years of Rabbinic
interpretation in the Babylonian Exile.

Or something like that.

Besides, the Old Testament is revered by Christians as
well, so presumably Moses, and everyone else in it, will
recieve God's grace as well.

When Jesus died on the cross for our sins, He was buried and went into Parades which was in the center of earth at that time. When the Lord came out of the grave and ascended into the heaven all the OT saints went with him and Paradise was emptied. Matthew 12:40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. Luke 23:43 And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise. When Paul was caught up into the third heaven Paradise had been moved. 2 Corinthians 12:4 How that he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter.

there were no Christians then- Christ hadnt come to earth yet. at that time the Jews were Gods chosen people. When Jesus came, he offered the gospel to Jews (He was the Messiah they had been waiting for) and the Gentiles (basically everyone who wasnt a Jew was offered the same salvation). you can read about the spread of that in the book of Acts.

Moses, Enoch, and Elijah are all in Heaven. Salvation is by Gods grace and will alone, and is available to everyone, Jew and Gentile.

This I believe; http://homelessheart.com/testimony.htm

Moses was before Jesus. Do you think that everyone who came before Jesus were not allowed into heaven? God did chose people to go to heaven. When Jesus came, He brought the new covenant.

Moses wasn't allowed into the Promised Land, so I guess anything is possible.

Nowadays, only those who confess Christ is Lord and asks for forgiveness will go to Heaven. We are all specifically chosen by God, however. It is by God's GRACE that such people are saved, not our works.
