It's typical to be fatigued, sore, and irritable for your first several weeks of exercise, especially if you're doing it for weight loss, and you don't really want to be doing it? Hmm? I've had clients that come into the club to work out and they stay mad at me until the session is almost over! Geez! Some people like to work out and some people do it just for weight loss and don't really enjoy it much.
Most people tho, just to put your mind at ease feel the way you do at first, because hey you are more fatigued, you are more sore, and you're irritable because you're more fatigued and sore! It's normal, stick with it, pretty soon you'll be looking forward to your walks, really!

It will take about two weeks to feel normal or getting use to it. Sound like you may not be ready for a whole hour yet, unless you are walking slow. Remember to stretch well after you walk and to drink water throughout the day. You should walk a little everyday, but it doesn't have to be for that long or you may get burnt out. Take a day or two off to let your body rest. Good luck!

Start with doctor approval, Get some good new walking shoes, The support in them only last about 6 mos. I'm very partial to New Balance.Whether your on a tread mill or other surface build slowly and DON'T try to push yourself. It's imperative to build up. Your body will be making many adjustments and changes to this new lifestyle. Stick with it it's worth it and keep Tylenol on hand, If that doesn't help definitely see your doctor and tell him/her your goals.

I understand. I had the same problem until I switched to walking at night. Much of my irritability at work and throughout the day was because I was so tired (I usually walked before work).

Stretching does help, too. Touching my toes before and after walks helps. So does stretching the front part of my legs by pulling them behind me while standing or wbhile lying prone.

It will, you might need better shoes. You will crave it after 4-6 weeks, you won't feel right without your daily walk.
