12:1
And there appeared a great Wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars;

There were 12 tribes of Israel. I believe the woman stands for the nation of Israel and that the baby is Jesus because Jesus was born an Israelite (or Jew... same thing). I am not sure what the meaning of the sun and the moon are though. One thing that is interesting are that the Sun, Moon, and Stars are the 3 main things we see in the heavens above. There may be some connection. Don't study too hard. God gives revelation by prayer, and he may choose to not show you right away to keep you from getting prideful if you would know the answer.

Matt.25:31-34; It is the angels that separate the sheep from the goat, therefore the angels come first to have the crown of 12 stars and bring in the birth of the kingdom rule of Christ Jesus who will rule with a rod of iron. Those to be with Jesus and angels are raised up at last day. Last day belongs to Jesus and is his 1000 year reign.
Rev.20:1-6[1000 year reign]; John 6:39,40,44; 1Thes.4:15-17[Michael cast Satan out of heaven, John 14:3; now a place is prepared for those that are raised up at the last day as heaven is cleansed. Rom.16:20[Satan to be underfoot]; Jude 9[Michael has dealt with Satan before]; Dan.12:1-13; Michael expected in last days before end of world Satan is in]; Matt.24:3,36; Satan has a shoert time when Michael cast him out of heaven.
Hope this helps.
Eph.3:21; World of Jesus never ends.

Throughout Revelations, you will find the numbers 12, 7 and 3 often repeated. It could stand for the Discpiles, or the 12 tribes even. It is a significant number, and anytime it is used it could be one of many things, as mentioned the tribes. Also the 7 churches.

Revelations is impossible to decipher. It is meant to be a great mystery, but good luck on your quest.

Religious writings are deliberately written to be interpreted many ways. Keep the people confused and they will never Reilly figure it out. Well most any way. those that do are called another name and disliked.

The woman is the early church... and the child is the remnants of the early church that had to be whisked away into hiding for quite some time.

Peace be with you!

the Book of revelation is prophetic. so, a lot of the symbolism will depend on dispensational interpretation.
