I'm a christian, and read the bible enough to have a fair knowledge of Christianity. But as I study it more and more I find one thing I can't get the answer to, what is the unforgivable sin? I've asked around but no one can seem to give me and solid, biblical evidence of what it is. It worries me some because my youth leaders believe that it is knowing something is wrong but doing it several times any way. This I do not agree with personally because it insinuates that there is an end to the power of the blood of Jesus Christ, that eventually God will stop forgiving you if you mess up again and again. If you answer and could give me some good evidence I would be very grateful.

Ok my question is answered, thank you so much. My mind is much more at ease. I had read that God's forgiveness was endless, But ya dont take advantage of God, cause if you keep sinning and asking forgiveness you probably dont mean it with your whole heart so you really arent repenting. Good night everyone, thank you.

Blaspheme of the Holy Ghost is not an easy sin to accomplish. One must know the thruth of the Holy Spirit and choose to blaspheme or deny the power of the Holy Spirit. All other sin is forgivable. But this is personal to God. In my life I cannot imagine any situation that would lead me to commit such a sin. It is not easy to do and requires a conscious decision to do so.

I have known those who have commited this sin. These few were Spirit filled believers at one time and this happened only after years of God dealing with them and reaching out to them and their refusal to change. God is not a hard-fisted stern old man sitting on the throne just waiting for someone to make a mistake. He is perfect compassion and unending patience. He is forgiveness beyond measure and unconditional love beyond understanding. He is life and hope. But even He has one limit that we dare not cross. Every loving father must say no at some point.

I have been a christian all my life. And my Pastor taught me that no matter how much you sin God will always forgive you for he is a forgive God. But, If you know that that he will always forgive u and u keep doin the same sin then that's where it is an unforgivable sin. Because you as a Christian should know right from wrong. And it's like takin advance from God. So now do u understand?

You know, myself, being a Christian as well, i know that we strive to be better people for the Lord, and to do the right thing for ourselves, but God knows that we make mistakes, we are human, he knows this. I understand the question. You are basically saying if we keep screwing up, God won't forgive us anymore.... There are some things in this world that cannot be explained, but as you can tell you might not be satisfied with the answer from a Pastor, why not try the greatest source of evidence ever... The Bible. It has everything. Ask your pastor what part of the bible might explain the subject better. Good Luck!

The unpardonable sin, as it is called (which is different from the unforgivable sin) is blasphemy of the Holy Spirit, which cannot be repeated today because of the circumstances. Jesus was casting out devils, and the Pharisees murmured, saying "He casts out devils by Beelzebub, the prince of devils." Jesus perceived their thoughts and let them know that blasphemy of the Holy Spirit had occurred, since Jesus was doing the casting out of demons by the Holy Spirit, whom the Pharisees were now accusing of being the devil. Pretty serious stuff. This is in Matthew...I think 16 (aah! I am at work and have not a Bible in front of me!) I hope this helps man. :) Take heart, you can't commit it. The unforgivable sin is more logical than evidential. And that one is rejecting Christ and dying in your sins.

I agree. I have seen this also. It takes a while.

very good question, I asked that myself several times, if you commit the unpardonable sin, you would not care about God and would not worry about it, so since you are concerned it means that you haven't commited that sin, remember jesus told his apostles, how many times should I forgive my brother 7 times and jesus answered, not seven times, but 7 times seventy. type in unparondable sin in your browser and you will get some good questions answered God Bless, mike
