1) Evolution and Creationism are 2 opposite ideas. Yet, in schools only evolution is being taught; creationism is banned. Is this fair?

2) Many agree to same sex marriage. To be fair should incestous marriage--between mother and son for example--be allowed? What about marriage between man and beast? (By the way these practices are condemned by the bible. How come some have found clever ways to do away with God's words?

We are living in a world which predominently opposes God and many of His principles. So, the thrust of the public schools will represent God-opposing sentiments. God's instructions are morally right and make sense, but the world resists this.

In prophecy, God says, "In the latter time...transgressors are come to the full" (Dan. 8:23). Jesus said in Matthew 24:3-9 that right to the end of the age, true Christians would be hated of all nations. In Luke 18:8, He asks, "When the Son of Man cometh shall He find faith on the earth?"

Through Paul, the Holy Spirit says, "Evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived" (2 Tim. 3:13). These verses establish the fact that the world is not getting better or more kindly toward the things of God or the people of God.

Many signs of the coming of the Lord to judge the world in righteousness are apparent. Violence and corruption would fill the earth Jesus said, "as it was in the days of Noah" (Luke 17:26). The basic premise of the world is: "There is no God" (Psalm 14:1). Romans 3:18 says, "There is no fear of God before their eyes."

One needs to but do a little historical research on Sodom and Gomorrah to realize how strongly God opposes same sex unions. Archeological findings have confirmed that these cities, which are now ashes, were destroyed with literal fire and brimstone. The heat was so intense that it formed swirls in the much of the rock that is still evident today.

The inhabitants of Sodom and Gomorrah did as they pleased. They also reaped the consequences of opposing God and His standards.

"Then the Lord rained brimstone and fire on Sodom and Gomorrah, from the Lord out of the heavens." Gen 19:24.

"...turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes, condemned them to destruction, making them an example to those who afterward would live ungodly." II Peter 2:6.

The link to the archeological findings of Sodom and Gomorrah is evidence of the Biblical account of the destruction of these cities. Check it out here:

Q #1. Creationism isn't banned in all schools, only public schools; private schools are free to teach creationism. The argument for the difference in treatment between evolution and creationism is that evolution is supported by science, while creationism is not and thus is based on religious faith. Thus teaching creationism in government run schools conflicts with the constitutional prohibition against "establishment" of religion.

Q #2. Same sex marriage and incestuous marriage are not quite comparable. A same sex marriage cannot generate the problems caused by in-breeding (birth defects, mental retardation, etc.) that an incestuous marriage can. As for marriage between man and beast, marriage is a contract. I've yet to hear an argument that any "beast" has the mental capacity to enter into a contract.

There are hundreds of millions of people in the world who do not believe in the bible. One should be very careful about suggesting that our laws should all be based on a book of someone's religion. Just look at Iraq, Iran or Afghanistan; they have laws based on their religion's book. Is that what we want?

I don't know about the first question but I guess it all depends on what you believe in. In a way I believe if one thing is banned from school; why not the other? I always heard that everything has two side so if you're going to let one thing pass or be taught in school; then you would think the opposite should be taught...do you think? For the second question; I think it is not our territory to tell people what to do. Look, no matter how people think about gays; they are here no matter what we think about them. I believe that if we do not invade their privacy; then they will leave us alone. We have to admit that most of us have friends who are gay and may not like it; but how would you feel if someone told you how to live? I don't believe in incest but I do believe that we all have rights and now the politics are trying to invade that right which was given to us long ago. I don't know how "God" fits in this so called "marriage" but at the same time; how can we say when two same sex is not marriage when really marriage is all about two people that love each other. When did we become ideealistic of what marriage is all about? When thinking about man and woman marriage; how many end up in divorce? The truth is; we as "straight" people really don't understand what marriage is all about so how can we tell someone else what is not allowed. I will never get it because I always thought we had the right to do as we please as long as it didn't break the law which same sex marriage is not breaking the law.

1) Evolution is something that can be re-created and watched using scientific method. Please do this with Creation... I would love to see it. So, Yes, it is fair, as Evolution is taught as a scientific theory, which it is.... Creation is a Religious Idea... Public Schools are not there to teach our children religious ideas. You do that at home.

2) Incestuous marriages ARE legal.... in some states 1st cousins are allowed to marry. And a man married his horse in California. These things ARE legal in some places. What I want to know, is Why you all feel the need to stick your nose in someone elses bedroom? Would you like the Southern Baptists to tell you, that you can't have sex in any position except Missionary Style? Or, you can not even be around your husband during your period? Why do you feel the need to stop sin in everyone else??????

To be frank, I think that your questions are worded in such a way as to be loaded. In my opinion you aren't looking for honest answers, you're looking for people to agree with you. So ... How is YOUR sense of fairness? But ... Que. # 1: Creationism isn't recognized as science. That's why its not taught in schools. Creationism has its chance to be heard via the religious institutions that subscribe to it. But they don't allow evolution to be taught in Sunday school. Is that fair? Que. # 2: Incest creates genetic problems. Mental retardation, physical abnormalities, etc. Bestiality has never been considered by any culture that I am aware of as an alternative marital life style. Homosexuality is a matter of birth. Your comparison is unfair. ~~~ You make it seem as though you plead for fairness. You do not. You plead for support of outmoded ideas that, while it is your right to believe in these, are slowly being rejected and replaced by a more equatable mind-set. Another way of saying this is to say ... The shoe is now on the other foot. And guess what? That's only fair.

Fairness?

Evolution is a scientific theory. Creationism is a religious belief system. Many different religions have a different creation story. Do you want the Buddhist version being taught to your precious little Christian children? Well, the Buddhists don't want your version being taught in PUBLIC schools, either. The only FAIR way to handle it is to NOT teach religious beliefs in school. That is what parents and ministers are for.

As for same sex marriage... the slippery slope argument is irrelevant and dishonest.

I agree that it is VERY clever that many Christians have found ways to make the Bible say things it doesn't say. Quite clever that people who won't cry out against hundreds of thousands of children being born outside of wedlock, many of which end up wards of the state, abused and neglected, won't cry out against people marrying and divorcing over and over again, won't cry out against adultery, but for some unknown reason will FIGHT to the death to make sure gay people won't ever have equal rights.

Persecution complexes are quite ugly... look in the mirror lately?

yeah both evolution and creationism should be taught. I agree with same sex marriage because if 2 people love each I think they should be allowed even if there the same sex, but incest marriages r defiantly not right coz its ur family and second that kid could be born with all sorts of problems, Sex between man and beast is wrong coz its not nice for the beast.

1)evolution is a scientific theory taught in schools because it is the basis for modern Biology. Creationism is a Christian theory, and is not science, so it is not taught in science class. Public schools are not allowed to endorse any one religious faith, and to teach creationism would be an endorsement of Christianity as a sort of official school religion, so it is not taught. It is completely fair.

2)Homosexuals getting married is two adults who love one another in a consensual relationship deciding to spend their lives together and asking for legal protections so they can more easily do so. A mother marrying her son is wrong, because having sexual relations with a child is considered sexual abuse, and even consensual sexual relations or sexual-type love between mother an son (or father and daughter, etc) can never be considered consensual because of the complicated family power structure, ie, even if a son wanted to marry his mother, it's not really considered consensual because the mother has so much power over the son. Two gay people getting married does not wreck the basis of the family structure on our society, since gay couples want to be as husband and wife, but a mother and son does wreck the family structure since they are leaving their familial roles. Marriage between man and beast is wrong because men just really don't love animals that way, even if they do have sex with them when they live on a farm in the middle of nowhere.

Your dealing with the issues from a christian fundamentalist point of view. Are you being fair? Evolution is taught in schools because of seperation of church and state. Schools are a government institution, and therefore cannot try to convert students. Evolution is a way of explaining, scientifically, the appearance of the human species.
I agree with you on gay marriage as a religious institution. Marriage in religion should follow the laws of God, but when it comes to the legal binding of two persons by the government, they should follow their own law. Law of man says no incest, no beastiality. Those are fair. But when it is between two constenting HUMAN adults, all should be fair game.

Also, I do believe that God created us and that gay marriage should not be allowed, but I am also trying to be fair to the issues

1) Evolution is taught in science class, because Evolution is science. Creationism is not. They do have classes on Creationism and other creation myths, in the religious studies departments in universities, where the subject belongs.

2) You're entirely right; I mean, it's completely unfair to all those mothers and sons out there who want to get married, and all the men who want to marry beasts.

But, since you seem to like the type to bring this sort of subject up...since you Christians are so against abortion and so against birth control and protected sex, isn't it completely unfair that so many women's eggs should go unfertilized? Isn't it completely heartless to let so many potential lives come to naught? We ought to harvest every egg from every woman every month and fertilize them all, implant them in women who aren't currently pregnant and allow those potential humans a chance at life! I think that would be the ultimate in fairness, wouldn't you?

I rely on my sense of fairness to confront what I must deal with without thought. Sometimes, one must choose a side. Politesse is nowheres-ville. God understands far more than u know and humans far less. Not every one concentrates on fair. A gay can live a new normal and escape conditioning as to what particular spirit tells of. Are two questions fair. You could get less points?
