I'd look at all the great world religions and some of the emerging religious ideas too. See what, if anything appeals to you. The main thing to remember in a religious search for truth and meaning is that there are lots of opinions and NO legitimate authorities. Anyone who claims to know the truth is lying or delusional, and this means that you have just as much chance of knowing the truth as the Pope and certainly as much as any preacher. I'd read a lot if I were you. The web and your public library have most of the most famous and influential religions works, and you can get lots of insight by listening (without necessarily believing) what people have to say on the subject.
In General, I'd avoid religions that demand or encourage genital mutilation, religions that demand you sacrifice your loved ones, and religions in which authority figures get to hump you.

God leads people through their conscience, their thinking, and their will.Contrary to what people think, God has not left Himself without a witness in this world. Your conscience was given to you by God to motivate you to do right. It is also an avenue God uses as an appeal to bring you to Himself. Reason is another means God uses to lead you to Him. Christianity is a logical religion, you do not have to just take everything by faith, you allow the evidence to prove to you the conclusion. This isn't like reasonig in geometry, it is more like a juror in a trial weighingevidence. No case is ever perfectly airtight, so an atheist can always find room for doubt if he/she wants to. Christianity has a very strong basis in history, not myth, and archeology backs it up rather well. Your will is important because you should not expect God to reveal truth to you if you are not willing to live by it.

There is no “real” god because the concept of a god is not within the natural realm, which is implied by the word “real.” All gods are showcased in the supernatural realm because they cannot be proven. Therefore, you will not be able to find the one true god, only the one that you believe and feel comfortable with.

Most, like "Satan's spawn" never will....They are GOD. they decide..their judgment rules......lacking the humility that can either come with age or experience- they walk and talk as if the "know". Tragic.
And yet if you are sincere in your question, and there is a "real" God....do you think He could be anything but "flattered" by your quest? Seek Him. You will not end up disappointed.

Do not be deceived by false gods, there is One God above all gods, He is the One True God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, the God of Israel. He has conquered the gods of Egypt, He has conquered the gods of Baal, He has conquered Canaan and the Babylonians. He has conquered death through means of coming to earth in the flesh as Jesus Christ. Call on His name as Lord and ask for forgiveness, that through Jesus Christ you may be expunged of your sins and inherit eternal life.
You may want to seek a Bible to read of what God has told us.

I am a Christian and I am in no way trying to force my beliefs on you or judge you in any way. If you are open to anything why don't you give reading the Bible a try? If you don't want to buy one there are free online Bibles that you can read in any translation.
