Laws must be based on some form of morality. And there is where we get our quandry. We cannot have morality without of necessity recognizing God. You cannot demand a standard if there is none. Even recognizing that society dictates morals is faulty, since that requires circular reasoning. Who dictates individual laws? Society. What gives them the right to do that? Moral demands to avoid chaos. What makes society decide morality? Individuals. See the ridiculousness?

Well it looks like you need a history course. We used to always make laws in this country based on what God said. In case you do not believe me, let me remind you of Blackstone's law commentaries upon the Holy scriptures. This set of books was theONLY education in law that Abraham LIncoln recieved .We did not have an IRAN type of country, did we. However, you seem to think that the cocept of God is dangerous to government. Let me remind you of several countries that feel this way, like North Korea, China, Cuba, Vietnam. Would you be able to show me one christian country that is sponsoring terrorism,or killing off thousnads of its own citizens at a time? This is what the atheist communist countries did not too many years ago, like Stalin in Russia, chairman Mao in China ( 20 - 30 million died), Pol Pot in Cambodia. So what makes you so scared of the christians when they all have freedom in their countries, and the atheists never had and never will?

You have to remember that the "god" some people worship, is not the God of the universe. Some people worship other gods, like Buddah and Allah. Not all religions lead to God the creator either. There are many religious cults in the world, like the Mormons and Jehova's Witnesses, who claim to come in the name of God, but deny the basic truths of Christianity. So many people see violence on T.V., perpetrated by people who claim to be followers of God, but are in fact are following their own gods. There is only one true God, but the devil has warped people's minds into believing that everyone who comes in the name of God is obeying God's laws, when they are merely perpetrating violence, bigotry and hatred. So don't be deceived. Read the Holy Bible, and learn the truth.

No. Some people just think their god is better than others'. What's scary is that those people are in charge of the laws.

No law should be based on religion. If we begin to pass laws from any religion we are just as bad as the Taliban, Iran, etc.

you have to keep in mind that when those laws were made it was a different time when most believed in God. Times have changed, but I think those rules are good. I personally love that we aren't allowed to murder, steal or lie in this country.
