They weren't his own words. They were God's words.

What are you talking about? Paul never contradicts scripture. He also didn't eat pork!

Actually the laws that were done away with are the "laws contained in ordinances".
Site:

Many people confuse these with the Seventh Day Sabbath and Sabbath Feast Days and the Clean and Unclean Meats.

The Laws Contained in Ordinances = Eph.2:15 & Col.2:15
**It seems that most believe these two texts are saying that the Sabbath and/or Sabbath Feasts are done away with. Let me ask you a question: who wrote these books; wasn't it Paul? Paul kept the Sabbath (Acts 17:2) & Sabbath Feasts (Rom.5:11) like Jesus; then these texts must not be talking about that, when the Bible says to follow Jesus (Col.2:6) and the Apostles (Eph.2:20). If you believe the Bible is inspired (2Tim.3:16) & is the truth (John 17:17); continue on!
**If everyone read the Bible clearly on these matters like Jesus did; then they're wouldn't be false interpetations! The Bible says in Colossians 2:16-17 "Let no man therefore judge you....which are a shadow of things to come" inwhich Jesus showed openly.
It explains some of these ordinances in Colossians 2:20-22 "Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances, (Touch not; taste not; handle not; Which all are to perish with the using;) after the commandments and doctrines of men?"
Now Hebrews 9:9-13 explains it more!
See: Heb.9:10 "Which stood only in meats and drinks, and diverse washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation."
The other part to this about "judging on the Sabbath,...etc." are in:
Mark 2:23-28; 7:2-23; Luke 13:10-16; 14:1-3 & John 5:8-10; 7:23-24.
Notice in every matter; the Pharisees thought it was wrong to eat with unwashed hands, to heal on the Sabbath, helping out people/animals on the Sabbath as other things; but Jesus always came back with Bible answers to them!
So what is actually done away with is "the judging of these days" and the animal sacrifices!

So as you can see; Paul never contradicted Scripture!
As for Acts 10 and 11 that someone mentioned. The Clean and Unclean Meats were still valid. Why do most people misinterpet scripture?
Peter's Vision:
http://community.webshots.com/photo/271589370/1342416239049373547mLoNir

** TEXTS THAT INVOLVE THE CLEAN AND UNCLEAN MEATS:
GEN.18:7-8; LEV.11; 20:25; DEUT.14; ISAIAH 66:17; EZEK.22:26; DAN.1:8; MATT.3:4; LUKE 24:41-43; ACTS 10:10-14; 1COR.3:16-17; 9:27; 2COR.6:17; AND REV.21:8.
----TO ME; IF THE CLEAN AND UNCLEAN MEATS WEREN'T VALID FOR TODAY; THEN WHY OH WHY WOULD THE LORD PLEAD WITH FLESH NOT TO EAT UNCLEAN MEAT--(ISAIAH 66:15-17). ALSO NOTICE DEUT.14:4 "SHALT NOT EAT ANY ABOMINABLE THING" AND REV.21:8 "...THE ABOMINABLE SHALL HAVE THEIR PART IN THE LAKE WHICH BURNETH WITH FIRE AND BRIMSTONE: WHICH IS THE SECOND DEATH."

Notice Peter's Vision closely in Acts 10:11:14. Now he was telling the Lord that he hasn't ate any clean or unclean animal.
Now notice God was trying to show a point to Peter that he shouldn't call any man common or unclean(Acts 10:15-17,28,34).
When you go further in Acts 11:5-10; it repeats the same thing.

Saul was a persecutor of Christians before he was transformed into Paul, the messenger to the Gentiles (acts chapter 9). and No, not everyone believed him at first until he, Christ's enemy, preached Christ in the synagogues of Damascus and everywhere he went and continued to do so, faithfully, until he was martyred in Rome. As far as pork is concerned, Paul never mentions pork by name, although in Acts 10, Peter has a vision in which god declares "what god has cleansed, that call thou not common." (verse 15)
many parts of the bible are found in the Koran, which was written 700 years or so later. Does this make Mohammed a blasphemer or a plagiarist? you should try some pork chops, they are delicious! esp w/ applesauce.

You missed Acts 10 and 11 I see. In it, Peter receieves a vision from the Lord, telling him to rise, kill and eat pork! Peter says, Not so, Lord! and God says, what I have cleansed, call not thou common. Powerful words from a powerful God. The point was to show that the people who had before been rejected, The Gentiles, (symbolized by the unclean animals) were now regarded as "clean." This was for the benefit of Jewish people. Luke records this amazingly well. As for Paul, Luke records his conversion and call to be an apostle in Acts 9. Read Paul's qualifications in later portions of Acts where he is nearly killed for his faith!

Do you think that is you ask this question enough times that the truth will change?

God sent His Holy Spirit to Saul/Paul, and filled Paul with Gods truth. God called Paul to teach/preach the Gospels of Gods Son Jesus.

Paul added nothing, and taught nothing, that was not Gods will.

Muhammad, on the other hand, made everything up for his own selfish gain, and you believe everything about him. Just doesn't make any sense does it?

This I believe; http://homelessheart.com/testimony.htm

People "believed" Paul out of FEAR. He was a Roman citizen, which gave him rights others didn't have. He could get things done, things that might not be good for those that might stand against him. He was also a powerful Jew with authority from Jewish religious leaders. He could have Christians imprisoned, perhaps executed given his standing as a Roman citizen. All of this put fear into the hearts of many. So ... Lots of people went along with Paul. I've been telling people for years, and it is my honest opinion based on study, that Paul was a cultist who knew nothing of true Christianity. He formed his own group, cultivated his own followers, developed his own doctrines. He never met Jesus, and had no clue as to what Jesus was all about. ~ Peace & Blessings ~

Paul was Saul at that point..people were afraid of him because he killed Christians..so when was blind and heard the voice of God they believed him..+God came to the guy who took him in. Any words he said were God inspired, I dont really know why you think its wrong that what he said is in the bible. In the beginning God made rules about what people can eat mostly because it was a safety issue. I Peter had a vision of God telling him it was ok to eat all kinds of animals.

Paul had lots of issues if you read the bible. He had the flaws it talks about. I think he may have had his visions, but I think that he still just interpretted things how he wanted to. He liked pork, so he said it was ok. He didn't like gay people, so he said that wasn't ok. He just did the same as many others, and used the bible to back up the beliefs he allready had. And made up new things to go with the one's that weren't allready there.

When Paul had his vision there were many people with him who also saw and hears things, he was not alone, it was well documented. Who says he can't add his own words, we don't make up the rules for writing the Bible.
The whole system changes and Christ OK'd the eating of all meats before Paul came into the picture.

His letters were added to the Bible. The Bible and new testament didn't exist when Paul wrote his letters, so how can he add words? The dietary laws are not binding on the New Covenent established by the messiah Jesus Christ.

Because those that knew Paul knew his works. Maybe because scripture has said, have no conscience of what you eat or what you should drink. It wasn't those people in those days that was confused of God's commandments but it is the people of our times that is confused and can't follow simple instructions and neither do they study God's word and ask for a understanding of his word.
