Every time I attach photos for email they take forever to attach. I upload the picts to iPhoto on a PowerBook G4. They are formatted as JPEG images size 2592X1944 in between 1.3 -2.4MP. Is there any way to "downsize" them so they can attach faster without using any compressiion progarams? I'm going on 25 min. attaching 2 pictures (4.3MP total) in yahoo mail. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

if you don't want to use still editing softwares... you can use the camera to change the pic size prior to uploading on iphoto. it will still keep the original pic and save the downsized pic as another file.

1. set the camera to playback mode
2. select the pic you want to resize
3. press menu
4. select resize
5. select the size you want

the smallest you can get is VGA which is 640 X 480 pixels.

Your only option to reduce kb's is to reduce image quality. If the pictures are only intended for viewing on screen, you can reduce them to well under 500kb without noticeable degradation. For starters, you can save them as 1600x1200. Or even 800x600. You can also take the jpg quality down a few notches.
If want the pictures to be remain printable, keep them at the full size. Perhaps ditch Yahoo and use Gmail for the purpose - it's faster with big attachments (if you must use webmail).
