There are quite a few on the market now to choose from. George Foreman is a common one. A plain waffle iron with a floating hinged lid works well. I use a regular pan and heat a cast iron pan on a different burner. I place the sandwich in the regular (heated)pan and the hot cast iron pan on top of the sandwich and turn off the burners. The residual heat from the cast iron cooks the other side of the sandwich and pressed it, so no turning required. They also sell Pannini presses and numerous sandwich makers at any variety store (such as Walmart, Sams Club) or check your local hardware store. I like the 2 pan trick and I don't have to worry about finding somewhere to put the sandwich maker/press.

George forman grills are not that great. Try a panni press. It can be found at William-Sonoma, Crate and Barrel, Sur la Table and other speciality shop. Do a search on the internet
