dont ask him..mabey you should have a guy friend (if you have one) or someone els to ask him..he could just act gay but like girls...im not so sure...who knows mabey hes Bi..lol..ok well if you need to know ask him.

There isn't really a polite way to ask someone such a personal question. I assume that by "set up" you simple mean introduce them or perhaps arrange a blind date? No activities in which sexual orientation would be critical?
These two might hit it off wonderfully as friends, whether or not romance is in the cards, so why not introduce them? Part of being a matchmaker is that the matches often don't turn out as you expected.

Ahh, yeah...Especially if you are trying to set him up with another girl..
Let me ask you this question...If you knew someone that was wanting to set up with some guy but there's probably a slight chance he may be gay....Would you whether for that person to find out if he's gay before setting you up with the guy?
Just approach...carefully and be sensitive..

If you're trying to set him up with a friend, it probably would be wise to ask him so you don't go through the trouble of setting your friend up.

ya dont hesitate to ask him. and make sure u ask him before things get wierd, if u actually find out that hes gay :P. he wont find it offensive, but he could get a little sad if u ask him that. then again, u can always console him. be honest and casual about it, and dont sound mean or nethin :)
