No comment. Don't even get me started.

Okay, fine, you got me started. (deep breath) I am a totally strong Christian, but I don't think that being a Christian is being part of the "religion of Christianity". Being a Christian is having a relationship with God, with Jesus. Being a Christian means you have asked Jesus to forgive your sins, to wash them away, and He has. Other people who don't believe what Christians believe decide to, as you put it, "bash" Christians, because they think what Christians believe is absurd, offensive, outrageous. And they hear bad things about Christians from the media and from other people like themselves. They might even realize that they're sinners, but don't want to face that fact. There are lots of reasons. It's very sad that others can be so rude to Christians. We have the same trouble and controversy with George W. Bush. Many people hate him, others love him, others are neutral. I personally like him a lot, even if he isn't the best president, but that's a different story.

One of the previous answerers said that Christians "bash" other religions. For me, that's not true. I don't "bash" other religions, though I don't agree with them. Some "Christians" may do that, but they aren't asking them the question, "WWJD (What Would Jesus Do)?" Jesus would not bash other religions. As Christians, we don't necessarily AGREE with those other religions, but we should never ever "bash" them. We need to be more understanding and open and kind, so that we don't scare others off from the start. Giving their ideas and beliefs a chance is the first step. The next step is showing them our beliefs, and hoping and praying that they will understand/believe. I hate it when bad, shallow Christians do stupid things, and then all Christians are portrayed that way. No, no, so many Christians are better than that. I mean, we aren't better than non-Christians, that's not what I'm saying. I'm just saying that we're portrayed in a way that is worse than the way that most of us are really like. I love the bumper sticker that says "Christians aren't perfect, just forgiven", because that is totally a true statement. Every human is imperfect with tons of faults, but the difference with Christians is that they have been saved, forgiven. That's the big difference.

I hope this helps! And stay strong in Christ, my brother!

A couple of reasons that I see. First, there are people claiming to be Christians who constantly show nothing but hate towards certain groups (homosexuals, abortion advocates, etc.) Unfortunately, I think all Christians are characterized as being this way.

Another reason is that the truth that we hold goes against what the world and culture claim as popular today. I mean, what the world says is acceptable and the Christian lifestyle are on two polar opposites. When Christians speak out against such things, we are usually in the minority.

Finally, the Bible itself says that Christians will come under persecution. We are not of this world, and because of this others will take aim and "bash" us. So there's my view on it all.

I wouldn't exactly say 'bash' it. More like, try to explain it. Anyone who does research into the beginning of Christianity, the middle of Christianity, and the present forms of Christianity finds plenty of absurdity to fuel any feud over its 'true' forms and documents. Some Christians make a big deal against pagan symbology, while others have embraced the pagan holidays and rituals. Some Christians claim that Jews are the cause of all their hatred, while others embrace their Hebrew origins (usually without paying much attention to the interpretations of actual Hebrews.)

It's just so REEDICYOOLUSssss!!!

I generally like Christians, but here are a couple things involving Christianity which bother me:

Double standards: Christians can say they know Jesus, but if you say you know a person you never met or try to say anything about them, you'll get crap from people. Likewise, they can say they talked to God, are Jesus' best friend, are his husband and they are his bride, etc. - and it is acceptable. Try that with a supermodel you don't know ;) They can "know" they are saved, "know" the Bible is true, etc. - but if anyone else claims to know something, they have to prove it. If there is a contradiction in the Bible, they find an explanation for it - but anything else which contradicts is a contradiction. Etc.

Christians say (as many you see here) that people criticize them because they don't understand their religion, are afraid of the truth, etc. - yet many of them really don't understand how their religion came about and are afraid of the truth about it.

Some people are mean and they like to bash nice people. I hope I am not doing that here - that is not my intention.

It's fun. People are bored. Some people hear christians bash them, so they do it back. Some have been treated badly by christians and sometimes even the church they uste to attend. ( and yes I know how to spell, I just hate the proper spelling for the word in this case for some reason. )

I have so many answers to this. So many.

I have been bored sick of them trying to convert me, damn my soul or save it because I'm atheist, be filthy hypocrites, and bash all the other religions that aren't conform to theirs. Some are close-minded bigots.

I know some Christians that are alright, I have some Christian friends, but it seems to me the vast majority is just begging for it. They have it coming: many try to attack me and send me hate mail to see what my reaction will be, then claim they are persecuted martyrs. I can't respect that. But I respect my Christian firends, because they can think by themselves.

Lack of understanding of the religion, the fact that this particular religion bashes on almost everyone else, the religion is also quite well known for wars, this religion is not very accepting of others.

The same reason "christians" bash other religions.

It has to do with the extremists who judge others and look down on the rest of society.
A true Christian would accept all humans as being one of God's creatures and withhold judgment.

Partly 'playa hatin'. Christians are the established, successful religion in the Western world. It has also had a history of violence, slavery, genocide, and persecuting others. It has made itself a target by its actions.
