According to Muslims Muhammad was the last Prophet , they also believe that Jesus was a great Prophet, but not the last one.
As an atheist I have no reason to doubt either of these beliefs, if by Prophet you mean some one sent to preach the word of God! They both certainly did that!
Where they got this 'word of God' from is a different matter altogether.
As far as I can see anyone can set themselves up as a Prophet just as well today as they could then!
It's really up to you if you believe any of these 'words of God ' or not, or part with your money or not.
But just don't try to convince me of any of it!!

I tend to keep away from such people as Hinn. There are ministries that are true to the bibles teachings, but they are few and far between. Hinn and company are what I think the bible calls false prophets. When they do if for monetary gain, I think they are fake. If feel sorry for people who in their hearts are seeking God and people like Hinn use them to line their pockets. I read somewhere Hinn has a 10 million dollar house paid for by his ministries. He should have used that money to be Christ like, and fed poor families, built better housing for people in third world countries, given it to charities that gives medicine to poor sick people around the world. I feel if you are going to spread the gospel of Jesus, what better than to love thy neighbor. Be a good Samaritan.

Beware of false prophets - and I have seen a prophet, kind of. There was this reverend who told his kid to sit in the school library at lunch and not pull out his Bible because a kid will come to him. That kid was my closest friend, and the encounter went exactly as the reverend said it would.
The thing about it is that we don't have prophets in the traditional OT sense, because ALL Christians have the Holy Spirit within them. Some will receive the gift of prophecy, which is what I'm describing here. It is a gift of the Spirit.

There are a lot of people who claim to be Prophets of GOD. There are a lot of real Prophets of GOD who make alot of real mistakes(miss GOD).It's real easy to be decieved on this EARTH no matter who you are. There are a lot of people on this EARTH who miss GOD and GIVE, to real Prophets and false Prophets.
THE IDEAL SITUATION would be that the Prophet of GOD does not miss GOD in his Prophecy's and the people listening to him do not MISS GOD in their GIVING's----it's a mess, and it's tricky no matter how you look at it. Real tricky. It opens the door to alot of injustice and miss-understanding's, accusation's and contempt etc. It's sad. The EARTH is under The CURSE right now, and the devil kills steals and destroy's anybody who will let him, plus lack of knowlegde of how the devil operate's cause's alot of harm(knowledge is POWER). Did you know that when GOD heals you, the devil can come by and STEAL that healing, making GOD look very guilty???? After you get HEALED, you have to learn to protect it from the enemy of HUMAN BEINGS. Enough said for now, hope this helps.

These are not the prophets. They are self-serving mostly...I'm not pointing fingers, just making a statement about the general human condition. There are prophets among us, there always have been...but it's rare that you would recognize one of these people if you met them. Few people would have thought of Gandhi or Mohammed as prophets while they were alive.

We live in a time when the evil one has a great deal of power.
If we knew where the prophets were, then the evil one would know.
It's best to keep him in the dark
But I will tell you this: there are a few, and they are out there.
The sound of the world has drown them out, but if you listen carefully, you can hear them, and what they say to you will be said two more times to you, to confirm it.

I wouldn't refer to Benny Hinn as a prophet, but there ARE prophets in today's world.
Why do you want to know who they are?

The Bible prophets were given to Israel to guide and warn. Also to proclaim the coming of the Messiah and key events to help people to recognise Him as being to true Messiah.(Dan.9:26,Isaiah7:14,Psalms 41:9;109:8)
After the completion of the Bible, prophets were no longer necessary because we have God's words to guide us (please read 1 Corinthians13:8-10,2 Tim.3:16,17)
Be very careful of those calling themselves "prophets",Remember,Jim Jones claimed to be a prophet and performed so-called miracles

Are you preaching, teaching, healing, and casting out devils? If you are doing this and spreading Christ word you just MAY be a prophet of God, but you may just be a Preacher, Minister, Ect...
Any work you do for Jesus Christ does count for something and you will be rewarded for it..
