I think it goes like this:
Sr. (you), Jr.(your son), 1st (his son), 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc.

If you are the senior, you would be John Doe, Sr., your son is John Doe, Jr., then, comes the numerical sequence. I, II, III, etc.

not really, you could either be senior or just your normal name with the roman numeral one next to it.

ex. John I John II and John III
