How come when someone disagrees with Christianity it's bashing...but when Christians bash other peoples beliefs or thoughts on life, it's called spreading the word of God.

Many christians try to force their narrow worldview down the throats of the rest of us. They are simpleminded and want simple answers. They accept whatever beliefs their family has always believed because that's the easiest way. They discourage skepticism, discourse and questioning. They are resistant to change their opinions in light of new information. They don't observe the world around them and draw their own conclusions. Of all the experience, thoughts, ideas, philosophies, theories and knowledge accumulated over the millenia they only consider one source, i.e. the bible. Few know it was edited and customized for the political atmosphere of the time and many books were left out. They quote chapter and verse as if they were facts and seem very proud of their memories but can't seem to actually practice the good ideas in their main book. But the number one reason is: Hypocricy! Outside church they're as lustful, greedy, dishonest, selfserving, unfaithful and unethical as everyone else.

John 16:7-15 will give you a good idea why Christians get trashed. Also Jesus said he was light and light exposes the darkness. And in another passage he mentioned that if you loved him the world would hate you. So as Christians we don't expect to be loved by the world (non Christians) because we were warned by Jesus himself. And our goal is not to be loved by the world but to be accepted whole and complete by God the Father. It is he who we should please, not the world. We are a peculiar people. And Jesus said elsewhere, I am not of this world...and I go to prepare a place for you. He said to Pilate, My kingdom is not of this world. And you know how foreigners can be treated in a foreign land. If you are a Christian you are a foreigner in a foreign land and should expect to be treated rudely by the locals.
But we have a hope of eternal salvation through our belief in Jesus Christ.

Hope this helped mate,

Let's see...

Fundamentalist Christians are trying to deny science and have Creationism taught in the schools; they are trying to take away reproductive freedoms by telling people that single cells deserve the same rights as human beings; they want their hatred written into the U.S. Constitution by banning gay marriage; they continually attack other religions and anyone who does not think like they...

Gee, I don''t know, why do you think they bash it?

Maybe because of those idiots on TV who call them selves "evangelists" and "bishops" and really only want money and power.

Can any one argue with a Christian who obeys Christ?
(Love your neighbor, feed the hungry, care for those who can't help themselves, etc).

Live the New Testament and the world would be a much better place.

it's because of the 'wishing to hell thingy'

seriously, if christians stopped doing that, they'd get a lot less bashed.

Its like shooting fish in a barrel. The jokes write themselves! The scars from my past life have not gone away. Are you happy now? I admitted it.

Because, normally, the most vocal of Chirstians are the ones who are so egar to damn you to hell for the slightest infraction of their laws. They are hypocritical, blantently ignoring the stuff in the Bible about loving your neighbors and that only God the Father decides who goes to heaven and who goes to hell.

For me, it's not just Christianity, it's all religion. Christianity just happens to be most popular.

I agree with Mark. It probably happens because Christians are often telling people that they will go to hell.
