There are no pros in illegal immigration. It doesnt benefit anyone. Those coming in are always on the run, looking over their shoulder, waiting for the INS to come break in their door. They cant legaly get health care, affordable housing, or protection under the law. As for the legal citizens, we have to take up the extra burden of higher taxes, we have to absorb the cost of funding the free clinics that the illegal's have to use, and there is the problem of drug use, gangs, and additional police presence and border patrol personnel. I'm certainly not suggesting all illegal immigrants are bad people. Most are not. And I agree that the immigration process sucks, and it needs to be redone in a big way. I dont think the answer is just saying the hell with it, and jumping the fence though.

There is no such thing as "illegal immigration". Immigrants are here legally, by definition. Anyone in this country without legal status is an ILLEGAL ALIEN.

The only pros on this is for the employers who hire them for 1/3 of what it would cost to hire a legal worker. Then they compound the damage by not paying payroll taxes on those wages, cheating the US taxpayers out of their due.

If we'd fine these employers $10,000 per day per undocumented worker (legal or otherwise), the "problem" would go away all by itself. The jobs would dry up overnight and the illegals in this country would be clamoring to go home.

I don't have anything for ya.

I do know that ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION is a huge problem compounded by hate groups who single out a specific ethnicity.

So many people post and post again....oh and post again and talk about the "ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION" crisis. And then in the next sentence mention those "nasty Mexicans"......"those carnival music playing Mexicans".....those "river crossing wetbacks".

Then in the next post pat somebody on the back for asking a question like "Why do they call us racist".....it is not about race.....it is about the ILLEGAL aspect. Does ANYONE see where I am going.

There are ALOT of problems with illegal immigration....that is a gimme......BUT there are also problems with "haters" using this forum to form a NEW brand of hate called......"it's just the illegals".

Peace

None for the United States. Tons for Mexico.

No matter what benefit you believe the illegal immigrants provide to the United States - like taking jobs "that Americans will not take", we end up paying much more out in social services. By educating illegal children for free, by treating illegals in our emergency rooms for free, by providing food through various outlets for free, and for the increased need for law enforcement due to increased crime - We the People pay through the nose.

I work for a Contractor who does Gov. work on bases throughout the US I have had to deal with Mexicans and Romanians. We are require by contract to confirm the legal status of these workers. We could loose our contract and pay very stiff fines for hiring illegal workers. There are no pro's for illegal immigration for the American people. Any contractor that hires them needs to be prosecuted. They can get temp work visas. If they had to pay taxes and medical they wouldn't be so eager to work. You've got to admit no taxes, free medical, and housing is very good incentive to work hard.

Cheap labor.

Companies like to hire illegal mexicans to do the dirty work (picking fruits, working the fields) that nobody else wants to do. However many people complain that they are "taking our jobs" just because they are willing to work for lower wages. The fact of the matter is, is that even though they are illegal and working under minimum wage, most people would not even consider doing the jobs that they take on.

You need to see the film One day in the life of a Mexican. It's a documentary, but kinda a funny one. It's got these little pop up balloons and gives a lot of facts about immigrants that most people are unaware of. Go rent it! You'll be glad you did.

The only pro's are for the Illegals who come over here and the corporations and employers who hire them.
In the long run, it helps no-one.

I Fired all of the Mexican help that I was using. I could not verify that they where here legally, so I told them no more.

I have a 16 yr old that can mow my grass nicely and I can help him. He is called my son. He needs to learn labor...

Pros? None I can think of, unless you are into aiding and abetting illegal activity ... I suppose if you're selling fake IDs, that's a huge pro for the scumbags who deal in them ... if you're an employer who hire illegal aliens, well that's a huge pro for them ... until of course they're caught and hopefully pay heavy fines ... Pros for ordinary law abiding Americans? NONE!

the only pros are for the illegals, they come over here, they don't have to pay income tax, they take money from here and send it home, hurting our economy and strengthening their own. besides, the illegals aren't immigrating, they're invading.

and also they don't take the jobs no one else wants, they take the jobs everyone else needs. yeah if the mexicans weren't doing those jobs, there would be rednecks doing them.
