You can give apple slices but no I would not let me dog eat the apple core-possible choking hazard.-Good healthy low cal treat though as well as carrots but do not give onions, grapes, chocolate(of course) or mushrooms all have been found to be toxic and cause metabolic changes in dogs.

Apple pieces are fine, but I've read that the seeds contain cyanide. Do not let your dog get ahold of fruit pits or seeds. If you would like a more detailed list of potentially poisonous plants and foods to avoid giving your dog, post another thread so I will know. I can e-mail you a helpful list. Hope this information is helpful to you and your best friend.

Sure, but then I would suggest taking the seeds and hard inner piece out first, as it may be hard to digest or get stuck in his throat. Also, apples can cause gas. I would suggest small pieces of carrots--most dogs like them. Of the many dogs I have cared for, I have never seen any that are given apples. There could be diarrhea because of the water/juice content. Maybe you should ask your vet first.

I wouldn't give him a whole apple. He could choke on the core. Give him slices. Dogs love apples.

As long as he doesn't get a hold of the seeds he should be fine. My dog ate some apple slices today actually.

Wouldn't hurt you dog. I don't think. Might want to cut the core out though. Although the core might be good for there teeth.

Mine eats them, with no ill effects except a little bad gas. If he'll eat it, go ahead and feed it to him, and break out the room freshener.
