why no spell checker when on yahoo and emailing in the compose mode?

my friend im helping has a problem with the spell checker. it appears at times and disappears with no explaination. im teaching her so not there when she uses it. so im not sure about everything.

There should not be a reason why the spellchecker disappears at times. It is probably that your browser did not load the page correctly. Try pressing F5 (Refresh) and see if spellcheck shows up.

In the meantime, if spellcheck does not show up, you can always copy/paste your message into MS Word and spellcheck there, it takes less than a minute.
