What, honestly?

Honestly, because while God may be eternal and unchanging, we aren't. We're only human, and have to learn slowly, over time... so as our understanding of God's creation grows and necessarily changes, our understanding of what God is and what He wants changes as well, and as things change we have to figure out amongst ourselves what the changes mean.

People don't argue over the bible. They argue about what the bible says. They're not arguing over the who, what, where, when, and hows of god. They argue the events, the translations, the people, the references, and the history in the bible.

Because the people who are reading it are not the same today, yesterday or forever. The plain truth is that as people change, they read things differently. That's why people keep reading the Bible. The words are still there, but they discover other things in those same words.

I think that what people argue about is the interpretation in the bible. One thing can mean so many different things to people.

i dont think it is nessesary for them to argue about the bible cause somewhere in the1corithians it says that god wants us to live in order, harmony and peace. so what ever bring disorder does not come from god.
also people argue cause of their differences in interpret of the word itself. but its good to look for advise in the bible rather than argue..

Even the Bible says that there will be those who are forever learning, but never coming to the full knowledge of the truth.

Dear: La Donna 1Pe:5:5: Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.
1Pe:5:6: Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:
1Pe:5:7: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
1Pe:5:8: Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
1Pe:5:9: Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.
1Pe:5:10: But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.
1Pe:5:11: To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

The reason is because people would rather live by their opinions of what God wants instead of read and study and accept what God says as fact.
