Any sort of alcohol will probably get you to sleep if you drink enough, but not only is it a very unhealthy way, but it's also not a very healthy sleep ... and often it will only last for a couple of hours and then you are wide awake again (as already mentioned before by someone else) - maybe even in combination with a huge headache! I'd rather go for warm milk with some honey, or/and a tiring book.

Alcohol can make you pass out but quite often it works for a couple of hours and then you are wide awake. And that really sucks. I would not recommend the use of alcohol for sleeplessness. Hell try a Tylenol PM.

Alcohol doesn't always knock you straight out. I suffer from insonmia alot and I use simply sleep. It's tylenol PM without the pain relief just the sleep aid. You get like 20 for 3 or 4 dollars. In an hour you will be passed out. There is no way you can fight simply sleep.

that sucks..I don't know.. may be you could go without the pill for a month and see if anything changes? I'd go with Maple Leaf's answer, ask a pharmacist or your gynecologist I've been on the pill Yasmin for 5 years straight (I have to for health reasons) and I've never experienced any side effects, I've been to several gynecologists and I've been told it was the pill with the lowest dose and the least side effects. its supposed to be a great alternative for women who experience adverse effects from other oral contraceptives because it contains drospirenone, whatever that is lol. Better to ask your doctor though hope u get better!

Oxazapam, it takes a whole lot of alcohol to make you sleep after a few years then you don't find out till it's too late what sleeping quantities do and you get heart, liver or kidney failure.

I don't think alcohol will help you to sleep. There are many things it will do..that list it pretty long. Sleep isn't one of them, unless its a stupor and that not a good sleep. Try green tea or warm milk.
