Each person gets to choose their own purpose in life. Mine are to love, to learn, to teach, and to think.

There was a man whose name you wouldn't recognize, James Pierpont, but this man was a complete failure all his life. He tried to be a minister, but was fired after just a month. He tried writing books, and couldn't get published to save his life. He tried various occupations, and finally died pretty much without a single success in life.
Except for one thing, that is. He wrote the song "Jingle Bells".
So don't despair, even if your life is the pits, there's always something you can leave as a legacy.

I disagree with the thought that no one will be remembered unless they're famous, or whatever you meant by the Jimi Hendrix thing.
My grandma will never be in the history books, but she definitely will be remembered, and had a great impact on her kids and grandkids (and into infinity, if it comes right down to it, since what she taught us, we will pass down to our kids, etc, etc).
The point of life? Glorifying God.

To make this world a better place by being a good person at heart!!!
To make a difference in someone's life!
You may not be remembered by everyone you ever met, but to the people you meant the most to .... they will never forget you!

I think it's to try to make the world a better place in whatever small ways you can. Yeah maybe it won't mean anything in the big picture, and you're not really capable of making a big difference. But it's better to even help just one person than not to help anyone at all.

Surprise, surprise, not everyone knows who Jimmy Hendrix is... Becoming 'famous' means very little in the 'great scheme' of things. The point of living is just that, living. Be who you are, and try not to make any 'big changes' in the world because your expectations will only be exceeded by your disappointment in not reaching them.

Throughout our lives we touch so many people we are unaware of.In our words, what we write, how we act. To say that nobody would remember us is a huge mistake. We all can't be famous, but everyone of us makes a difference in somebody's life. One of my favorite quotes sums it up nicely "You may only be one person to the world, but you may also be the world to one person". Have faith in yourself! Peace

To wake up everyday and see dawn. For all those times someone makes you laugh. All the fun things you do.
To get married and have kids. To watch your kids grow and see your grandchildren. People will remember you thur your children.

Life is a gift from god..and all you need to do is "experience" it. Spend as much time with your love ones, do good to others, have kids and enjoy it

And who cares if you're rememebred or not?
The point of life is to have fun. The day I stop enjoying my life is the day I start to consider ending it.
