household fabric bleach is chlorine bleach. bleach for lightening hair is hydrogen peroxide bleach. do not use household bleach on your hair. if your hair is very dark, it may take two steps to lighten it to blonde. If you insist on doing it yourself instead of going to a haircare professional, you will need to get a bottle of 40-Volume peroxide from a hair supply store, along with a couple of packets of bleach powder, a brand like Quik-Blue or something like that. The clerk at the store will be able to guide you. Your hair will likely turn out orangish anyway, but after you have lightened your hair to blonde, you will THEN need to put a blonde haircolor on it. At this point you need to choose a blonde with a blue or purple or clear base. Do not choose red or gold bases (these will make it brassy) AND do not choose any ash blondes (these could go green). Choose a beige-blonde (again, the clerk can help) - you may also want to pick up some red-gold color correcter to tone down any brassiness. When you finish with the bleach, your hair will probably feel coarse and straw-like, especially if you do two processes. If you can wait until the next day to color, do that. But the color has conditioners in it and your hair will feel better after your finished with it. Good luck. (After all this, you may decide to go to a pro!!!!)

NONONONONONONOOOOOO bleach. Go to a salon, try a beauty school if money is a problem it is cheaper and will be fun. Try not to do a home job. As a hairdresser myself I find that the home kits do not turn out as well and then we end up fixing it. Use a school, salon or just do not do it. use a spray bottle with water and 1 table spoon of lemon juice and spray at will in your hair in the sun, this gives you natural highlights.
Your going to hurt your hair and head do not use bleach it is worth the money to go some where professional.

No, regular hair bleach will not, it will however burn your scalp and cause you to go bald. Don't try perioxide either it will do the same. Try a bleaching kit in a beauty supply store in the hair dye section, If you found your pink dye the bleacher is around it somewhere.

No!!! Don't use bleach, it will destroy your skin and leave you bleeding and peeling if you get it on you. Plus there are serious dangers to ingesting it or getting it in your eyes. You could be permanently blinded or killed. Your hair will dry out and broken fall out...
Use regular hair dye. If that isn't possible, peroxide is an alternative...

When I first started coloring my hair I thought of that, so; I wanted to test it. I wasn't stupided enough to put it on my head without test it first, so I cut off a piece of my hair and put it in a cup with bleach. And do you know what happened? The hair disintegrated, gone, not to be found. Don't do it. If you're new to coloring you hair go to a salon to have it done.

Bleach is too harsh for the human body. You can test it on your skin, pour some in your hand and let it sit for about 15 minutes. If it burns your hand then you can imagine what it would do to your hair, scalp and face.

It will make your hair fall out. I know a girl that tried using household bleach on her hair. It was a disaster. Funny for the rest of us, not so much for her!

Well I think that your hair can fall out so I would ask a salon before I do anything.

I have brown tresses and I have Blonde highlights. Perhaps you should try lighter blonde, it might look better than brown, dark brown just looks kind of trashy.
