H) None of the above....Atheism is a lack of a belief in god, gods or the supernatural.

You are an atheist. Here, I can prove it.

Do you believe in Zeus? Do you believe in Thor? Do you believe in fairies? Do you believe in leprechauns? Do you believe in Wizards?

If you answered “no” to any of those questions then you lack belief in that gods or that supernatural being.

So practically everyone is an atheist, because everyone doesn’t believe in some god. In fact humans have created thousands of gods over the course of their history and I bet you don’t believe in MOST of them. That makes someone who only believes in one god, 99.999% atheist!

Those who call themselves “Atheists,” however, believe in no gods at all. That’s only one less god than a Christian believes in. To an atheist the idea of a Christian God is nor more plausible or believable than Thor, Zeus or leprechauns. The fact that so many people believe it does not prove anything, but instead says more about human’s herd mentality and human’s unwillingness to think for themselves. Remember everyone also used to think the earth was flat too, that so many people believed it didn’t make it true.

Atheism isn’t a morality stance. Believing or not believing in god does not have anything to do with whether that person is a bad person or not. It just means they don’t have a god to dictate their morality to them. There are plenty of viable moral codes on the earth that are without gods, such as most of the eastern religions and humanism for example. Human values are inherent to being human. God does not “give” them to us.

Yes, there are bad atheists, but there are bad believers too. There is no statistical proof that atheists are any worse off as far as morality choices go than any another group out there. In fact, statistics show that atheists are more educated, more affluent and have the lowest divorce rates out of any other religious group on America. The interesting thing is that those statistics come from a Christian polling firm trying to prove just the opposite! They couldn’t do it!

Typically most atheists in the country are well educated, in good jobs and have families just like every one else. They are upstanding citizens and decent people.

I believe that atheism is a belief, the belief that there is no god or higher power above humans.
Its not a religion or cult because theres no worshiping, and theres no real organization. I dont think atheists are a hate group, any more than any other minority is a hate group. It could be a philosophy I suppose, but the person would have to have some kind of idea of life past, "theres no god"- such a person would answer the questions religion answers like "how did the world begin" in another way that doesnt involve a god figure. I dont think its faith unless you can have faith by not having faith in any god, gods, or god like figure.

G) some of the above

B) it's a belief in themselves and nothing else. no god, no creator, no afterlife and no consequences after death.

D) to the reverse. it's an absolute lack of faith

E) some take it to a point of hate group-ism. some but not all.
just like some christians take it to the point of fanaticism.

F) above all things it is definately a philosophy simply by it's definition. a philosophy is the study and debate of mainly intellectual and quite a few wholly improvable ideas. but then it could be argued that any doctrine of faith could be a philosophy as well.

(H) none of the above
Atheism is defined as disbelief in or denial of the existence of God or gods. That means you don't believe in ANY deity. So to say, atheism is a LACK of belief, faith and religion. Plus, many people often get mislabeled as atheist when they are simply agnostic (don't know what to believe).

G) All OR some of the above
Atheism is a belief, therefore, throughout Human history I imagine it has been all of the above at one time or another.

H...The word is mostly mis-used.In history there have been many different gods and goddess. The Romans. Greeks, Chinese, Native Americans, ect, ect, ect, all had their own gods and goddess. Who are we to say I am right, and you are wrong ? " A person should believe in whatever they want to, or in nothing at all. And not try to force what they believe on others. Christians have destroyed every culture they came into contact with.
