Generally speaking, private schools ... if you have the means. In most cities, however, the public schools are adequate.
The biggest drawback to home schooling is the lack of other people the child's own age. This inhibits the growth of social skills.

If you live near a good Public School, I'd say Public School. I think all children need to be schooled outside the home, but don't know if a Private School would be the answer.

I work in the public school system and my experience is that in general private school is the best. There seems to be a lot of parent participation/interest in the curriculum and, depending on the school, the curriculum offered is usually better and more demanding. I found that home-schooled children were generally not socialized enough and were "sheltered" and so had a difficult time transitioning to public school.

Home School without a doubt. Public school shows way too much influence on children, which is why some kids have horrible attitude problems and take up bad habits Private schools involve way too much drugs and alchohol. At least with homeschooling, you can monitor what your children are learning and give them the proper disipline. Another benefit of homeschooling is that it's on your own time.
Best of Luck!! :)

Well I would say home school but just because as a child I was homeschooled. It's a great experience and through other homeschool groups you can make great friends! But if they want to go to school do a private school. Unless they are from a different country (I mean if they're from Korea they look different and if they're from Mexico they're darker). Kids might be mean because not many kids like that go to private schools so if it's the reason then send them to public school or homeschool them.

Private school. Better education, better learning environment, and if you choose a religious private school better social values are taught to the kids, much more often than in a public school environment.
The downside is, be prepared to pay big bucks every year. It ain't gonna be cheap. I've heard that some of the major metro cities were considering a voucher program of some sort to help defray the costs for low income families. But you're going to have to check with your local school board to see if that program actually exists in your area.

Hardly learned anything in public school - messed around most of the time. Was home-schooled 2 years, that was cool, could sleep in and do the work later. Private school is probably the best but it costs a ton of money to keep your kid safe

Theres nothing wrong with public schools they do ask for a little more help volunteering than private but being a cheaper option means not working as much and having more time for these things. The education is just as good and sense of community is great. public all the way

I'm going to home school my children because I disagree with whats going on with public and many non-christian private schools, they have removed God from the curriculum and treat theories as facts (big bang, evolution)
no wonder people are acting like animals, could it possibly be that we are taught that our ancestors are monkeys!
how can our children learn right from wrong if they are taught that they can do whatever feels right to them because they are the master of their own universe.(God is!)
what your children learn is your responsibility, and it might be different for each of my children, If my husband and I believe that our child has a firm foundation in the Bible, and is mature enough to not be so easily influenced they may go to high school or take separate classes at a community collage, although this differs from child to child.
and it's shown that homeschooled children do signifigantly better in standardized tests, the only drawback is they may have trouble being social, the remedy to this is sports, volunteer work, church activities, and being involved in the community
I've worked with children in AWANA and it seems to me that the homeschooled children have no problem being social, and are very articulate.
I am willing to sacrifice my time to teach my children the way God has intended, as depicted in scipture.
I am only 20, and we have only been married 7 months
but we are looking forward to have children soon.

A good public school can compete easily with a good private school. Home schoolers have disadvantages socially, but seem to do very well academically. I personally believe a good public school is best for the kids.
