I just called looking for my friend, his mom answered (she only speaks Spanish) and she told me "no se encuentra". What the heck does that mean???

"He is not home" and you can say: Digale que me llame, mi nombre es XXXXX"

You are saying: tell him to call me back, my name is XXXX.

I am a native Spanish spoeaker. "No se encuentra" means: He is not here.

The meaning is 'one is not', or maybe 'this is not the one', I'm not sure. oww..maybe the people up there is right, you should never trust online dictionary

She said one is not. She probably meant he isn't home. She could have said no esta aqui, he's not here.

Literally, it means "he is not found"....in other words the person isn't there.
