There is a verse in Hosea too that I can't remember but if we Christians say that there is one God existing in a trinity and these two verses seem to be refering to the one God (not a specific member of the trinity) then how can that be reconciled with Jesus having a body?

Hosea was written many years before Jesus came into the world. Therefore, it is only referring to God Himself who is a Spirit.

God sent His Son into the world that we might be saved through His death and Resurrection on the cross. John 3:16.

We need to realize that Jesus prayed to God many times calling Him Father. Jesus would NOT pray to Himself! He was praying to God the Father. Jesus is God the Son and the Holy Spirit is God the Holy Spirit. These three are one in that they are united in one purpose and in one mind.

They are three distinct entities. Yet, they are one in purpose, mind, and goal. They are never in disagreement because they are all in God's perfect will.

Personally I do not believe that the Bible teaches a trinity.

I believe that the trinity doctrine is of pagan origin introduced to Christianity to make it more compatible with pagan religions in the 2nd and 3rd centuries.

Jesus was God's first direct creation, then through Jesus, acting as Gods agent, God made everything else. So thee is no problem with Jesus being on earth as a man because he is NOT god but Gods only begotten son.

There is too much evidence to support that to post here.

All texts used to support the trinity are taken out of context or have been badly translated by translators allowing their theology to get in the way .

I don't know why many people think Jesus is God; why do people say he is a spirit.
"Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God." --1John 4:2
Only God is Spirit!(John 4:22-24)

If you really want to know how Jesus was Spirit; then flesh; then spirit again; please see these websites:

Jesus was a man and he taught that the spirit of god was within him. He is referring to the eternal logos (son of god). Logos is spirit. Jesus was not god (god is not made of his own creation is he?)

GOD the Father.....gave us JESUS the (Human) Son.....Who, upon His departure back to Heaven, left with us the HOLY SPIRIT, Who is the Comforter.

Although They have three different purposes, They are One, and His NAME is.....JESUS.

Think of a chicken "EGG" (that is its name).

1- It has a shell for protection.

2- It has a yolk for reproduction and nourishment.

3- And it has its egg white for balance and cushioning.

But it is still called/named EGG!

Hope this helps. GOD bless.

M't:1:20: But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.JESUS CHRIST CAME INTO THE WORLD IN THE FLESH, HE DIED FOR OUR SINS,SO THAT WE MAY HAVE LIFE,JESUS WAS FROM THE BEGINNING, AS HE IS THE LIGHT.WE SERVE A LIVING GOD.
GOD IS A SPIRIT,FIRST YOU MUST BELIEVE.

It really bothers me when I hear people say Jesus is God.
God is the Father.
Jesus is the Son of God.
In my opinion saying it any other way is denying the Father.
