That is so funny! Are those people on the website for real? They're ridiculous.

A sin... Let me laugh.

The dietary rules were never intended to apply to anyone other than Israel. Jesus later declares all foods clean (Mark 7:19). God gave the apostle Peter a vision in which He declares concerning formerly unclean animals, “Do not call anything impure that God has made clean” (Acts 10:15). When Jesus died on the cross, He put an end to the Old Testament law (Romans 10:4; Galatians 3:24-26; Ephesians 2:15). This includes the laws regarding clean and unclean foods.

Romans 14:1-23 teaches us that not everyone is mature enough in their faith to accept the fact that all foods are clean. As a result, if you are with someone who would be offended by you eating “unclean” food – you should give up your right to do so as to not offend the other person. We have the right to eat whatever we want, but we do not have the right to offend other people, even if they are wrong. For the Christian in this age though, we have freedom to eat whatever we wish as long as it does not cause someone else to stumble.

The Bible is far more concerned with how much we eat than what we eat. Physical appetites are an analogy of our ability to control ourselves. If we are unable to control our eating habits we are probably also unable to control other habits such as those of the mind (lust, covetousness, unrighteous hatred/anger) and unable to keep our mouth from gossip or strife. We are not to let our appetites are control us rather than us controlling them. See Deuteronomy 21:20, Proverbs 23:2, 2 Peter 1:5-7, 2 Timothy 3:1-9, 2 Corinthians 10:5.

Of course. According to the Bible, eating any unclean food is not only a sin, but an abomination. Shrimp would qualify as one of the sinful foods.

Luckily, Christians have a "loophole" scripture that is used as an "out" on this one. In Acts chapter 10, the Apostle Peter has a vision and God tells him not to call anything unclean that God has cleansed or something like that. Many Christians believe this verse gives them the right to eat anything they want.

It would seem to me.... that something strong enough to be considered an abomination in the eyes of god... probably wouldn't change.

Is there any other examples of things that God considered an abomination in the old testament that is no longer an abomination?

the bible says that Jesus came to free us from the chains of the old laws. Instead of being saved based on our actions we are saved based on Jesus' actions (his taking on and dying for our sins). This doesn't mean that you can do whatever you want after you are saved but it means that alot of the old law is null. The bible also tells the story of paul falling asleep and God offering him "unclean animals to eat" Paul tells God that nothing unclean has ever touched his lips. God tells Paul not to make unclean what He has made clean. SOOOO you are free to eat shrimp if you want to.

But there is another side of the story... If you believe that it is a sin to eat shrimp and you eat shrimp then you are sinning because in your heart you are disobeying God... Also if you are in the presence of someone who believes it is wrong to eat shrimp and you know they think it is wrong and you eat shrimp anyway then you sin because it causes that person to fall.

eating shrimp is not a sin. There's a same site only it's called Godhatesfaqs.com and it's all bogas. God hates no one, he loves people no matter what the skin color is,nationality, sexual orientation, or if you eat shrimp. Also they amy have the qoutes from the bible, don't belive it. We always have to remeber that God didn't hand down the bible and said 'this is my word, and you most follow it, or you'll be sent to hell.' Humans wrote the bible through our interpation of what God said. So the shrot answer is no.

lol, it depends on your religion, if you are of a faith that obeys the laws of being Kosher, than yeah, it's a sin... Shrimps are bottom feeders. Although... I must say, what a scrumptious way to commit a sin!

I sure hope that all those poor lost shrimp-loving souls repent before they die, or they will of course burn in hell forever. Let's all pray for them...

...wait a minute. I had shrimp this Saturday. Uh-oh...

Romans 13: "Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother's way."

Romans 14: "I know, and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that there is nothing unclean of itself: but to him that esteemeth any thing to be unclean, to him it is unclean."

Leviticus says eating unclean food is an "abomination." I often wonder why that word is quoted for homosexuality, but not for forbidden food...

SATIRE people, it's SATIRE. A joke, get it?

I think it's hilarious. God does not hate shrimp, God does not hate fags. He's not so sure about the NY Yankees, though.
