Part of the reason is the material but also that Dan Brown really believes its real. I don't get it either but that's what I know.

They preceive the book as trying to portray fact. It is FICTION. Regardless of what Dan Brown or the media say. I read the book and found it to be a decent murder mystery. The ending I think was a little weak.

After reading the book, I refuse to pay to see the movie. Generally speaking, too much of a books meaning is lost when it is turned into a movie.

The Davinci Code is a work of fiction.... it is a story that is woven around just enough fact to make it plausable. I found it to be quite entertaining. But being Catholic... some find it a challenge to the basic foundations of Christianity... which, of course, offends and challenges the church.

I have read the book and seen the movie. It is a great book, it is just mostly fiction. Brown mixed in just a little bit of truth to make people wonder. It was a brilliant marketing move.
