While it is true a physician once tried to measure "the weight of a soul", it is an urban myth that he discovered anything. The body does not lose an unnaccountable ounce at death.

That is a popular folk myth popularized by the movie "21 grams"

It is just a one-time event...
The blood stops circulating all around your body, that keeps that effect of 1 ounce heavier when we are alive...
At the moment that the heart stops beating... Your blood get stock and approximately one ounce (nothing really) got lost...

No I don't know any medical terms, But the Bible says at Gen 2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. We are souls, we don't have souls but we are souls

Sorry, but a study done in 1907 has so many variables that I can't take it as truth. It would have to be a scale from present time that weighed a patient as they died.

I don't believe anyone knows. For those of you who believe in a soul, then sure.
