Probably not.
As a Christian, I'd be interested in evangelizing them, and I'd have a hard time agreeing with Muslims, Jews, Buddhists, etc, on just what the good news was that they ought to hear and respond to. I'd definitely be butting heads with the atheists on that one!
I'm not sure what race has to do with that.
Having said that: in a military context, sure I'd be on the same global team with my fellow humans, despite our differences in background--But we're still gonna be different and have a diversity of opinions philosophically/religiously. If you can manage to get the world's political and religious authorities to agree to one global military force, then, okay. I think that's a tougher job than you envision, however, despite how easy it looked in "Independence Day."

I think most of earth would hang together to save the planet. The one exception would be Republicans & Democrats. I think the first of the 2 for it would make the other against it just for spite. I would hope that we could all see the importance of fighting for one cause.

Haven't you noticed, that in disaster, people always ban together. Remember the tsunami? How about all those HUGE earthquakes in other countries? We always ban together.
So in the event, even with some mass hysteria panic, we will ban together. Unless some religion or nation called them. But the other nations would still ban together. oh! well, you get my point.

I imagine some might suggest that we get the aliens to eliminate our local, mortal enemies (insert, blacks, whites, muslims, homosexuals, fundamentalists christians, muslims, eskimo's, southern californians, etc) then we'd pull a sneak attack on the aliens when they were finished.

i truly think that the world is almost at the point of becoming one-not that us humans will agree on everthing or almost anything but do believe that we are becoming much more tolerant of each other on a one to one basis and if nothing else agreeing to disagree-hope the day is not to far off-lots of love keep the peace old hippie
