awww let her have her own terms, to come to you when she wants to. Always hold your hand out first for her to sniff so she is comfortable with your scent and can make the first move.
My one cat I used to have on my grandmother's farm years ago was abused and dumped off. It took forever to be friends, it had to be on her own terms. We had to talk soft, let her sniff our hands, come to us, and slowly make the first move because she never made a move. We'd lightly pet her and move our hand away, sometimes she'd run but after time she didn't she realized she liked it and trusted us. Be very careful about picking her up and letting her on your lap. She's gonna be very wary of both. You can even hold out food for her to take out of your hand, it builds trust.

If she's still a small kitten, you can make a lot of headway. Don't make any aggressive moves towards her, but talk very sweetly to her and get her to PLAY. Once you become a playmate, she'll relax with you. Food and play and, when she'll let you, pets and cuddles and kisses. Always speak gently, never hit, and try not to make sudden moves that startle her. If you do, always immediatly coo over her and speak gently so you knows you didn't mean to scare her. Be prepared for a time committment, but it will be worth it. Good luck.

keep the cat in a large room with open spaces and keep the food and water full. if you want to be around the cat. sit in a chair and wait. read or read. do not watch TV as the noise may scare the kitten. usually the cat overcome with curiosity will wander up to you. if she starts to relax just a little bit around you start to talk quietly whistle of hum. let the cat know that she won't get abused for showing affection. if she jumps into your lap, let her get comfortable before you begin to pet her. if you do don't over do it. when the cat has either moved or is completely comfortable you can watch t.v. , or leave. eventually you can let the cat into the rest of your house when she is completely at ease with you in that one room. preferably playing sleeping or even puring.

awww!! poor little kittie! The best way is for her to get to know you on her own..Let her come to you, and allow her to leave at her own pace..since she was abused, almost anything will scare the poor thing..But truth be told? only time and a gentle hand and caring heart can help here..good luck with her..
please make sure she gets spayed when she's old enough!! about six months for a female cat to be fixed...

just give her time. talk soothingly to her and don't make her do anything she is afraid to do. over time she will learn to trust you and will warm up to you. she might not like strangers, but she will realize you are the one who is feeding her and caring for her and giving her a life that is completely different from her old life. since she is a kitten, as she grows up she should mature and maybe forget about things as well. just remember your tone of voice is going to be a big factor in it.

Provide for all of her physical needs, but don't chase her or make overtures toward her. She needs to come to you when she is ready. Of course, do everything you can NOT to startle her: Don't yell or make loud noises, because that will scare her even from a distance. Don't let your children or other pets crowd her. Make sure she has a safe place to get to when she wants to be alone.

Don't force her to come to you, or hold her when she tries to get away. Unfortunately she will take a bit of time to trust humans again, but with love and kindness, she should come around.
