I can delete normally but when I highlight text to delete, the words just remain. I have to use the "delete" button to erase text.

There is an option in Word under Tools. You need to enable the option where it says something like "Typing replaces selection". That should fix the problem.
If you cant find it, then just contact me or put in your details which version of Word you have and I can find out what you need to do for your version.

I have the same exact problem, but it's only for Microsoft Word, not any other programs. If you find out the solution, let me know!

That's not a huge problem. It might be something with that specific button, however, it really isn't hard to move your pinky a little.

if this just started happening today then restart your computer to reset it's default settings
