Yes.
The thing about parables is their multi-layered complexity. New meanings emerge for readers according to their state in life, which is why people can read parables throughout their lives and still gain new insights, and the parables have retained their significance across millenia.
There are lots of parables, and what you will learn about your life may be different from what I will learn about mine.

Why, yes! If we think it's just a parable, we will never be able to explain life and find its meaning. We'll never find the truth, our life will be on the wrong scent and everything around us (including ourselves) will smell death from time to time. After a long trip in error, delusion, corruption and despair we will come to the place of thinking over whether this assumption (that it is just parable) was credible or not. Then we may try stopping resisting truth, take the other way around, accept facts and just believe with a simple heart that Jesus died our death so as we can live His eternal life.
See how much this "parable" teaches about our lives? So, stick to it and God bless you!

Yes, all His parables were for the purpose of teaching a
truth. I'm not sure which one you are referring to however,
or I'd give you the lesson from it.

Did Jesus give up Saturday for us?
Jesus? Christianity? .
Your opinions only, no parroting or C&P from a Bible.
If Jesus died, he could NOT have been God.
Gods do not die? Do they?
If Jesus 'died' on Friday and 'undied' on Sunday, what else besides Saturday was sacrificed?
What's the BIG deal?
If you accept the Jesus sacrifice story, would you also accept this one?
Last Friday, I donated my life savings to Charity.
On Sunday, all the money was returned to me.
I made a big donation to charity. True or False?

Yes, but which one? They all pointed to different areas of our life. My personal favorite is the Prodigal Son which shows the love of the Father toward the wayward gentile nations.
