OceanStarr was correct. A "bastard" child is one in which the mother and father were not married at the time of conception. If the child lost a parent, I believe it is proper to just tell any inquiring parties that the child "lost his mommy/daddy". There is no name for missing a parent other than motherless/fatherless, although I wouldn't recommend saying that to the child because they may feel less of a person for not having a mother/father.

If it's a dead-beat parent, do not bad-mouth the other parent in front of the child. This will only cause more problems for the child.

Oh, and using the term "bastard child" is mostly used by older adults who were taught the phrase when they were growing up. It is not used by most respectable persons and is considered highly offensive by most people. Today's society has become less disgusted by unmarried people having babies, even though it is still a serious tragedy for all parties involved especially the child.

This prophecy was announced about Jesus Christ when he was a baby, about what he would grow up to do for mankind. What Gabriel announced to Mary, then, was much more than the miraculous birth of a baby boy. Her son would be the royal heir of King David—the permanent, everlasting heir to a divinely ordained Kingdom. Gabriel’s prophecies concerning Jesus’ future role have profound significance for all of us. What a good thinking question to ask. He is a mighty god in that he deserves the worship and honor given him attached from almighty God. No one goes throught the father except through Jesus Christ. He is our Everlasting Father because as the Ransomer, he died for us and has ransomed our souls, he has the power to resurrect us. As such, when he does, he giving us life again, becomes our eternal father. Prince of Peace. When he does ad Daniel 2:44 happens and he brings an end to these kingdoms/governments his rule will begin and last on earth forever. We pray for it in the Lords prayer all the time, you just never realized what we actually pray for - thy KINGDOM/ GOVERNMENT to come, .... ON EARTH as in Heaven, well, how to you think that has been acomplished in heaven? Now we are praying for it to be accomplished on Earth! So -- when it does, it means CHANGES! PEACE! A new society of man and beast, and paradise too. Something man cannot conceive in our current minds. PERFECTION. But he promises it -- do we have the FAITH to believe it now? (Hebrews 11:1) Faith is the assured expectation of things hoped for, the evident demonstration of realities though not beheld" That is the definition of our FAITH. Demonstration of realities though not beheld. We are hoping for it to come. Do we have faith strong enough to beleive in it?
