get a lcd. a crt makes your eyes refocus about 20k times an hour not good for you lcd is less as its does not refresh or flicker many times a minute

When you stare at a CRT monitor for an extended period of time, your eyes get strained. Its best to take breaks from the computer. You shouldn't stare at a screen for more than an hour at a time without some sort of a break.

They used to call it VDU sickness. You need to (1) take a break often when using the screen and (2) get one of those polarisers that hang in front of the screen. Otherwise, get an LCD display, they are pretty cheap now and the pain will go away. Unless you are sticking a pencil in your eye whever you look at the monitor...

Our eyes weren't designed for this. get some very light sun shades. If the problem really becomes a pain see a doctor it may be a sign of something eles.
