Access is my favourite charity. They raise money to sponsor the post secondary education of a student in Africa. They also raise money for elementry schools in Africa as well. They are very smart. For example, they have made a deal with the Kenya government, for every dollar they raise, the kenya government will match it. This is a great cause because these children are getting an education. They are non-religious (therefore not evangelistic) and all of the money raised publically, goes to the cause. All of the volunteers have to pay their own way and put in money to offset office costs.

I like the American Red Cross, the Salvation Army and Goodwill Industries. These organization reach out to their communities and extended families, all across the nation. They give, but it is always returned to them, through donations or even from the recipients of their care. Give and it will be given back to you, good measure, pressed down shaken together and running over shall men give unto you. Luke 6:38

I like The Nature Conservancy. Instead of crying and whining about the environment, they take the money from the membership dues and donations, and the buy land all over the world. Then they either keep it and manage it themselves, or they get a conservation easement on the land, and turn it over to the local government to manage. Where so many others just talk, they take action, and it works.

I like the World Wildlife Federation (or WWF). I don't donate to any organisations other than that one. Endangered species of animals are a very real concern for this world. I do appreciate how many impoverished countries there are, with millions of starving people, but their governments need to be updated, and education about birth control and sexual health implemented. People are responsible for themselves. Who's going to take care of the animals?
