Sweetie? Age is the only thing besides genetics and cleanliness that will make them go away. If you get what appears to be a zit, and you wait until you think it is safe to pop it and nothing comes out except clear fluid, it is a growth homrmone thing. Otherwise, don't use lotions or foundation or powders and what have you because it clogs your pores. I know that in Junior High School, my friends that got pimples and such would plaster on foundations and powders to cover it up and it only made the problem worse.
Do you have a family doctor that you visit regularly? Ask him/her to give you a referral to a dermatologist. How about genetics? Have you asked your Mom (if you don't have one, sorry for that question) if she had the same problem when your age? Sweetie? I wish I could stress enough to all young men and women that this too shall pass. Those who like and/or love you will always like/love you regardless of your skin problems. The key is to not pick, poke or pop them unless they are like a huge cloud just waiting to burst with rainfall. There is going to come a day when you will have no more pimples but if you don't heed what I say, you will have lots of scars. See a dermatologist, please? Store brand rememdies don't always work. Good luck sweetie. Your beauty shines through all of that because it comes from within. Smart people who have good hearts will know that. Those are the folks that won't care if you have one pimple or full blown acne. Know what I mean? Big Hugs, Sheri

Have your mom find the nearest Mary Kay representative.
Cleanser Three Called "Cleanser III"
Toner For Oily Skin
Sunscreen Moisturizer, if you ski or in the sun a lot.
At twelve you needn't have to have a moisturizer, besides your skin is probably oily enough right not.
I had pimples bad. Sometimes I would want to hide, sometimes they were big and RED, and gross. Not just one or two, I mean dozens, all spread out of course. It wasn't "Acne" where I needed medicine, I just had oily skin and a lot of pimples.
When I was told about the Mary Kay cleanser, I thought I'd try anything at one point, I was worried I'd not be able to find something to help.
A miracle! First your face will get a bit worst as you cleanse out the pores and start to remove the dirt on the top of the skin and get to the icky stuff. Then your pimples will start to go away. In abourt two months you should see a difference. If not sooner, I had better skin in just about two weeks! I used it for years and now NEVER have a pimple, or at least no more than one or two every six months or so. I can live with that!
Clearisil is drying, and doesn't "cure" the problem constandly. If you wash with Mary Kay "Cleaser III" in the morning and at night you will feel so blessed!
Good luck. Not enough people know about Mary Kay Cosmetics. Good stuff, but you just NEED the Cleanser III and the Toner for oily skin! The lip gloss is wonderful but its $10 all by itself! So the Cleanser and Toner may be all you can afford right now. Get some NOW!!!

I have a problem with acne also. I'm sure you've heard of Proactive. While that may work well for some people, it hasn't worked for me and is very expensive. However, I have discovered something very similar to it for a fraction of the cost. It is called "Klear Action." I has the same three steps (face wash, toner, and medicine) as Proactive and it worked for me while Proactive didn't. You can get Klear Action at Walgreens I know. I'm not sure if you can get it any where else. Also there is a medicine for individual pimples called Clearasil Ultra. It is supposed to make pimples noticably smaller in only 3 days. IT WORKS!! For me anyway. While it isn't for your entire face, it works very well for those few pimples here and there on your face. You can get Clearasil Ultra at Wal-Mart and I'm sure pretty much any where else that sells Clearasil products. There are two types of Clearasil Ultra tubes. Make sure to get the "vanishing" cream. If you use it like you're supposed to I'm sure it will work for you also (1 to 3 times a day). I use it twice, morning under my makeup and night before I go to bed. Other than those two over-the-counter medicines I haven't really found anything else that works.

My doctor recommends using Spectro Jel so thats what I use. I find products with salicylic acid cause my acne to get worse. Use Spectro Jel to wash, then try using a benzoyl peroxide cream at night time. Only use like no more then 5% benzoyl peroxide as it might dry out your skin. My acne isnt that bad anymore now that I'm older, but I also used to take a pill for it too. It might have been called minocin or something like that. It really worked. talk to your doctor.
BTW...don't listen to that Pretty Lady person because she doesn't know what shes talking about. Age doesn't do anything. There is such thing as adult acne too. Not trying to get your hopes up or anything, but I"m in my 20's and still get acne while my parents who also had it went away when they were still teenagers. Just do your best to take care of your skin, drink plenty of water and see a doctor for proper medication to treat it.

Cetaphil is not a prescription medication, you can buy it at any Walmart or drug store. I think Cetaphil might be a little too moisturizing for a 12 year old. My dermatologist recommends Purpose Gentle Cleansing Wash, I use it and really like it. They have a really good moisturizer too if you need one. Also, you want to make sure that you keep your skin clean. Wash twice a day, but not more than that or you'll make the problem worse. If your skin is still dry about a 1/2 hour after you're done washing your face you'll want to use a little bit of moisturizer.
My dermatologist also recommends Basis skin care products. I really like their facial cleansing cloths. You can carry them around with you for use during the day. You don't need to buy expensive products to get your skin clear. Purpose and Basis are both less than $6 and available at Walgreen's. Good luck.

Cetaphil will be your best friend! Wash your face with it daily, drink a lot of water, stay away from junk food and your skin will follow through and glow.
Cetaphil is not a prescription - you can get it at Walmart, Kmart, the grocery store, Walgreens, Longs anywhere. This is not a prescription at all!
Oh! Adding make up to your pimples will only make it worse! If you need to wear make up (and not sure if you can at 12, I couldn't - mom wouldn't let me!) try for a mineral based powder such as Bare Essentials.

You should skip that crap and have your parents take you to a dermatologist. The stuff you mentioned is OK, but the dermatologist can get you something that really works. They can also treat the acne you have right now and get rid of it pretty fast, as well as preventing future breakouts. The over the counter stuff really is only marginal at best.
