Progressive. Stay away from Safe Auto, its total crap. Its considered an insurer of last resort, so if you get it for your kid, you could actually make it quite hard for them to ever get "real" insurance. Plus, just because they break it out into a weekly price doesnt mean they are cheaper than other places. Progressive Direct (using the Progressive website and not an Agent) to get a price is the best way to get a good deal- as long as you dont need Homeowners too, its great.

Safe Auto is a pretty good insurance place from what I've heard and isn't expensive.
You can see there ad on commercials.

Safe Auto is not any good. If you DO get in an accident, they won't help you and deny the claim. Find a old car, just do liability and go from there.

to be honest,while some companies will be cheaper than others,you will still be paying an arm and a leg because you are considered high risk.
