Hey! I got this one! When you're coming up to a turn or where ever you want to drift, you need preferably smoother/slicker tires and a good space to drift in. The car needs to be at speed above a minimum of 50 mph (for a small car, faster for larger ones). Cut the wheel sharply at a hard 60 degree angle and stay on the gas. Cut more and more in that direction until you are coming around out of the slide.

Guess that other poster never watched a NASCAR race. It's very real, though it takes practice to master it.

First off, you need a rear wheel drive vehicle. As you enter a turn, you apply power with the accelerator to break the rear wheels loose, inducing a skid. You then counter-steer to control the skid. Adding power now allows you to turn more sharply into the turn at a higher rate of speed.

Take a high-performance driving course; they'll teach you all you want to know and do it safely.

This whole "drifting" thing isn't new. I was doing it 20 years ago in my mom's Buick Skylark.

I used to do reverse drops and make "88"'s in the road representing the year I graduated.. You probably don't even know what a reverse drop is. You young whipper snappers are all the same by golly.

Very Carefully. If you mess up you will end up in a roll over accident. Roll-overs are the second highest fatal accidents, second only to head-ons.
