I did the same trip a couple of years ago. London can be a bit chilly, especially at night, so make sure you pack a light sweater or jacket. For the rest of your clothing, alot depends on what you'll be doing. You should bring a pair of jeans, some capri length pants and a skirt. Try to bring a few tops that you can mix and match (some maybe dressier than others), then accessorize to dress the outfit up or down. You'll probably be doing a good deal of walking during the day, so comfy shoes are a must! Nicer shoes for evening. Women in Paris generally do not wear shorts, so I wouldn't bother with them. You hear alot about Parisians being rude to Americans, but I didn't find that at all. If you can, try to speak a French as best as you can. Americans often think that everyone should speak English. Have a great trip!

I've never been to Paris during the summer months. However, make sure you bring comfortable shoes. You will be walking a lot. You can't really enjoy Paris if you have monstrous blisters on your feet.
Wear a money belt. Keep your passport, airline tickets, money and credit/debit/atm cards. In your wallet/billfold, carry enough cash for one day. That way, if you are pickpocketed, then your trip isn't completely ruined. If you need more money, slip into a bathroom and make a withdraw from your moneybelt account.
Don't take a lot of jewelry. I've never been pickpocketed (but I have been felt up, groped in the metro), but my mom had a bracelet lifted off her wrist (without her knowledge) on a crowded metro car. It's just best to leave valuables at home. Keep a tight grip on your backpack/bags. Besides, it's kind of fun to go into different stores (whether it's Galeries Lafayette or a small mom-and-pop shop in the Marais) to look at accessories.
I've read other places that the French don't wear shorts. So I'm guessing you'll be fine with crops/capris, just not shorts.
I suggest bringing a backpack...you can stash your guidebooks, a snack, umbrella, a bottle of water, camera, film/memory cards, iPod, etc. in there.

When I lived in France, during the spring and summer it was pretty warm. Sometimes it got pretty hot as well. If I were you I would definitely bring a pair of walking shoes (not necessarily sneakers because you still have to stay in vogue!) because you'll probably be doing a lot of walking. [ using the buses can be a bit overwhelming but the Metro is easy]. When your going around Paris and if you leave your hotel early--make sure to bring a light sweater because it will get cooler at night.
Last summer, it was in fashion for the girls to wear those long flowy skirts. Many women were capris, skirts--never shorts! Many of the French can tell if a person is American or not (besides the big 'I love NY' shirts and the American Flag hats!..lol) but also because they wear shorts and Nikes. Stay comfortable. Wear bright vibrant colors and don't forget to accessorize!
If I were you I would carry around a purse but not so large because traveling tourists are easily spotted and get their pockets picked. One note too-- if your NOT staying in an hotel, keep in mind that many of the buildings and mansions in Paris are not air conditioned and can get hot at night.
Bon voyage!

Make sure to take a jacket, as Paris is chilly, even in the summer. Take light pants, darker colors work better for travelling...and several different tops and a few cute dresses. Make sure you have comfy walking shoes as the streets are hard to walk on. Don't dress like most Americans do...dumpy jeans, and NO NO NO sweat or workout clothes!
As far as accessories, take whatever you like...just make sure you get a scarf or two while in Paris!

WEATHER
The "typical" temperature at this time of the year should be around 75°F, mostly sunny, possibly some showers sometimes.
Thus, sunglasses, an umbrella and maybe a hat are necessary. Have a look on: http://weather.yahoo.com/forecast/FRXX0076_f.html?force_units=1
Yet, it is highly unpredectible. We have been experiencing extreme situations since the beginning of June. On June 1st, temperature at its peek was... 54°F and for these last 3 days, we are in the 90's!
STYLE
Casual. You may also like to consider shopping in London and Paris!

capris. i just came back from paris like, 1 week ago and capris are trendy right now. maybe a light jacket, the weather has been fantastic, but if you walk around a lot (I suggest taking the metro when you're getting tired, it's very useful), wear a tank tap!

Look nice just cause you can all Parisians all look fab. Bring evening jackets, skirts if you're going to the opera, slacks and Capri's for the day, you won't fit in in Nike's but converse or other non-white sneakers work...you'll want them for all day walking, scarfs, any jewelry. wear whatever you feel great in and it'll work in Paris.

It doesn't matter, just don't wear anything you wouldn't wear here. Shirts. Pants. It's all the same, unless you want to be really trendy--it doesn't matter because no one cares (like anywhere else).
