Don't let yourself get distracted by waiting for answers to your questions on Yahoo answers!

Get your homework done the day you get it. Then you are not panicking the night before. It also means that if you have a problem, you have time to find out what you should do before it is handed in. Believe it or not, teachers would rather you asked for help before the assignment is due in rather than when it is late! And let's face it, TV is awful on Friday nights!

If you are talking about revision, do each subject in short bursts (minimum 15 mins at a time).

Find a way that you find comfortable (eg, listening to music, at a desk, lying on the floor...) I used to work listening to my favourite LPs (I am that old!) at full volume, which drove the family mad but it was the only time I could get away with it! I found it easier because if it was quiet, every sound distracted me.

Give yourself a target, for example work for an hour (4 subjects) and then watch tv for a short while.

But everyone goes through it; you just have to persevere!

Good luck with your studies!

a dose of reality? you're fecked if you don't. but you wouldn't be asking the question if you didn't know that...

"education is what remains after you've forgotten everything you were taught at school".

Friend of mine ignored school, left with nearly no qualifications, missed out on college and all the rest of it. REALLY regrets it, so much that he's developed all kinds of odd habits to compensate. He's always memorising Shakespeare sonnets for example. But as a grown up, he knows why it matters now.

Time will teach you why you need to study. No-one else can. Your job is to pre-empt it. But if this helps, think of an out-of-shape 20-year old who was told throughout childhood to exercise and not eat burgers, and ignored the advice. He/she is regretting it now, wondering where all that potential went. That's what happens to your brain if you don't study when you have the chance.

Do you want to be clever, intelligent, knowledgeable and a success in whatever you choose to do whether legal or illegal?

Then study. The more you know the better placed you are to deal with anything.

Better fighter, singer, musician, lover, cook, friend, criminal, lawyer, father, mother, chancer, whatever.

Start now it's never too early but it can be too late.
