I have been emailing a guy online since last week. We talked on the phone the other day. I had set up a day to meet him later in the week. I didn't want to meet him today because I worked and came home and went out and am currently doing some chores. I sent him an email to say hi because he was online. He sent me an email back that said I want to see you today. I had already told him that the day we picked is better for me. I am just too tired to meet anyone tonight. Should I ignore his message and meet him later in the week or does his anxiousness indicate he is in a hurry for something? We are both in our 40's so it's not a older guy/ teenager kinda thing, just a normal dating thing.

Stick to your guns girl... If you can't do it tonight, then you can't do it tonight. If he is still persistent I would think about not meeting him because imagine...If he is that demanding now, think of what the relationship would be like after you've dated a while or even married.. Next thing you know, you'll be doing what he wants, every time he wants it. And on his time too.
Having a good relationship starts on a two way street, and goes along side of lots of patience!

Stick to your plan. If he is a gentleman, he will accept that you have things you need to do and that there is a better day to get together.
Perhaps he is just expressing disappointment in not being able to see you sooner.

If you like him, you could say something like this, "I am looking forward to meeting you too and it will be much more relaxing for me on (the day you picked) because I will have time to relax and enjoy your company."

It would be a red flag only if he becomes aggressive or obnoxious about it.

I think you are over analyzing this. Sounds like he is into you and really can't wait to hang out. Maybe he thought you might change your mind. Just email him back and say, "Sorry. I've been working all day. I just want to take it easy for a little while and then I have some more work to do. I am looking forward to seeing you on _____. I'll talk to you later."

I'd be very curious as to why tonight. Something pushed him to changing. Yes, it could be sentiment and wanting to see you. Yes, it could be something else. I'd ask the question of what changed and see what the answer is - let your gut feel out his answer as to whether this is a red flag or not.

And, since you are tired, you've set your boundaries as to not tonight because you need to do what is good for you. Stick with what is good for you, and you won't go wrong.

It could mean anything at all, so it's too early to say if it's a red flag. You'll get a better chance to judge it when you meet him. Have fun!

Remind him that later in the week is better for you and you just can't make it tonight. If he still insists, then I would start to get worried.

He may just be in a hurry . sounds that you each hit it off and you want to meet him. so If it was me I'd go meet him. but the choice is yours.

Trust your intuition. Cut it off now before you get hurt. He sounds slightly desperate, and that is never a good thing.
