Im about to locks(dreadlocks) and my mom says theyre going to cut off a lot my hair. Is that true?

I have dreads, they didn't cut any of mine out, hair is what you need for the locks. Now, to take them out they will have to cut them. The only way to get them out of course is to cut them out. The key is to let them grow out as much as you can without getting them re-twisted before cutting them out. That way the "new-growth" will not have to be cut. They will look a bit messy at that point, but I guess that's the way to not have to have a small mini-afro when you are getting rid of them.

if ur hair is permed they're going 2 cut off everything that is not natural. u cant get ur hair locked with permed hair. only natural hair can be locked.

I have always heard it is true. Maybe you should cut it before they do.
That way they won't cut too much of your hair off.

What are dreadlocks? Is that when they soak your hair in spit?
