Theft II is a class C Felony. The MAXIMUM penalty for a class C Felony in Washington State is five years in prison and/or a $10,000 fine. Depending on a persons criminal record, they may only get a fine and some time doing house arrest or work release.

Many states have pre-trial diversion programs, you will be charged with peti theft which is a misdemeanor. If this is available you should take it since it also usually involves sealing of your offense. Many times you have to ask for this. It also involves community service. addended answer: You must have received some sort of ticket, call the number on the ticket or officer for details, usually it is a prosecutor, As for college record, it doesn't show with an college, but you are supposed to be honest on the application, technically you still innocent until the trial.

It can vary .I've seen it be as little as a fine ,probation and time served..Straighten up and fly right and you won't end spending more time by getting caught again..
