it depends on your life style, as you explained you have sport practice untill 5:30, and has to be small, there are ALOT of small breeds of dogs, and any dog is trainable at the right age. smartnes doesn't come in any breed, some dogs are smart aome aren't. breeds have nothing to do with it. the dog will adjust to your life style. i can't recomed a specific breed, but for trainablility, i would get one that is less than a year old. your local animal shelter will have all sorts of breeds. you'll know the right dog when you see it, trust me. it will come to you and you will just have to have the dog when you find it. mut breeds work well, and thats most of what you will find in a shelter. they are hardier, don't have so many health problems, though being a mut doesn't make them imune to problems. look around and see what you can find. best wishes on your search

Hi E! I have to say that my little chihuahua is absolutely wonderful! He's the greatest dog I've ever owned and I've owned quite a few. Not to brag, but he's just precious and I think you would really enjoy one of these dogs. They are very smart and easily trained, therefore you wouldn't have to change your lifestyle around him. (like the sports practice). Get a chihuahua, you'll be glad you did! They are really special dogs! Good luck and I hope I helped.

It really depends on which kind of dog you like, but I have a yorkie and a maltese, and they're great without people as long as they're together. So if you're gone often make sure to get two, otherwise it will get lonely, no matter which breed.
