I've survived without one. I am probably a stronger person for it, because I know I don't have that crutch to lean on. I've seen many people who call themselves Christians behave in a very un-Christian manner because they think they can pray a bit and be forgiven for being horrible. I don't believe I can be forgiven for mistreating people, being dishonest, self-serving, or bigoted, so I don't behave that way. If you don't have one, and you don't feel you're missing anything, there is not anything wrong with you because of it.

I Agree With (woodworkingm).....As A Former Christian, You Knew That The Only Way To Heaven Is Through Christ!......"Jesus Is The Way, The Truth, And The Life, And No Man Cometh Unto The Father (Heaven) Except Through Jesus"...(John 14:6)......So You've Fallen!...So What!...Get Up And Try It Again!.......Come On, You Can Do It!..........Praying For You!!

You don't even have to have a religion to believe in God. I follow a philosophy called Tao Chia. This has proven, at least to me, to be the most fulfilling way to live. They don't define God, they just understand that a sacred mystery is behind life being on the planet.
The issue for me is not understanding God from head to toe. That's an arrogant approach, anyway. How many people really know everything? That's just an excuse to dictate belief. People use supernatural answers that go in great detail to make themselves infallible. If you don't agree with them, they say that "you don't accept God's word." Notice how evil that makes someone sound?
The part I'm interested in, spiritually, is how to live - not about demonizing people or dreaming about my enemy in hell. The people I learn from teach what they know by example. They don't go around looking for points to beat into people. They don't have things to prove.
If you get curious, check out Tao Te Ching at the library. Or contact me. I won't try to convert you or discourage you either. It's not an issue to Tao thinkers if someone accepts or rejects it for themself. There's no "missionary" instinct to it. It's not a religion!

What ever makes you a better person.
You don't have to have a label. But, I'm sure you know the way to G--. Faith, if it's not with you, it has to be the most difficult things to achieve. I spent 30 years without it. Now, everyday is a great and amazing thing. Any time I can I will thank Jesus for being there with me. I know what it feels like to not believe at all. I'm been there. Now, even if I wanted to go back I couldn't. Nothing ever ever will ever test my faith. I am living proof of his wonders. I don't know how to make you believe for it was very difficult for me to believe.
He appeared before me. I still can't believe it. But I would be lying if I was to tell you other wise.
He once said, "blessed are those who have seen the Son of Man and believe, but more blessed are those who haven't seen him and yet believe."
Always think with your heart.

Religion, does not have to be complicated, to be a christian is to believe that Jesus Christ is your savior, and died on the cross for your sins, you must truly believe that you can ask for forgiveness, and you must have faith. I don't think you'll find anything roaming around, it will only cause a void, to know their is no other that died for our sins, is enough. The Lord loves you and wants you to come back to him in spirit. We are all Gods children and so much cares for us.

I no longer have a religion either. I have been studying more of the "new age" spirituality based on love and have found it far more fulfilling and true to my heart.
Try reading some of the authors below -- interesting stuff...

You will have to find what works for you within. If theism ("god" belief) does not work with your heart, then perhaps you should not force yourself to believe in "god" if your heart isn't in it. Being honest with yourself is just as important as being honest with others. :-)
What's in your heart and mind is more important than trying to "fit someone else's mold". If no religion is your Path in life, then that is it. :-) Nothing wrong with it. I have no religion or 'god' to speak of.
You can still be a very good human being full of compassion, love, trust and kindness----all without religion or "god". :-)

There's nothing bad about not professing any religious faith.
Have you considered WHY it "doesn't seem to be working" for you? Once you've answered that, you'll know if you're on the right track. Good luck.

Hi,
I think I have no religion too... I've been so disappointed for so many times as it's hard to believe there's 'somebody' who really care about us.

It is hard to find a religion ,you don't know who is right or wrong.so i think as long as you are a faithful person and obey all Gods laws and believe in God and his son Jesus Christ, but i;m not sure that's up to God to decide.
