Yes women can preach. Matthew 28:19-20. Anyone who proclaims the gospel of Jesus Christ is a preacher. Women however cannot be pastors. The pastor is the leader of the church under Jesus and the womam is not to have authority over the man in church, 1Timothy2:12. As for the woman being silent in church you have to study the whole thing, not just one verse, Paul here was taking to the Church at Corinth were they were having a problem with the women gossiping, it had nothing to do with proclaiming the Gospel

Well, I can see you don't really have any idea what you're talking about...
You need to read the Bible in context! The first person to spread the news of Jesus's resurrection was a woman, "Mary."
In that era, the men and women didn't sit together during church services, so the women would talk across the room when they wanted to ask their husbands a question.
That is the reason why the statement was made, "Let women keep silent in the church."
You need to study the Bible just like you would any other subject, then you will be able to comment wisely. Perhaps?

I hope you are not being forced into a marriage of this sort, or such a religion. You have every right to leave, at your own chosen speed.

I doubt very seriously that your idea of a preacher, is the same you refer to in the Bible. Men, and women sat seperately. Their lifes were totally different. Most women were illiterate, and kept that way by a rigid code of conduct.

The progress the church has made should be applauded, not thrown up as an accusation, or an example of contradiction. I give credit for those changes, to the Holy Spirit, which women share with men.

If you're not comfortable asking your husband for guidance, then you are probably not in the 'Holy' state of matrimony that the Bible speaks of. That's your choice, there is no Federal, State, or local law that keeps you bound to such a relationship.

But remember, please, that in America, there are mainy, mainy faith based marriages, such as muslim and hindu, that are far more rigid in their gender roles. And it is acceptable, in a free society.

If you're seriously looking for a church (which I doubt) that recognizes your voice, keep looking. There are thousands, all around the country.

The hierarchy of the Church as set up by God is that the leadership is through the men.
It may be that is because at the time women were little more than something that was owned by the man.
In today's society of course we realize the importance and individuality of women.
However i feel that Men should lead the Church
Women should offer council and advice to the other women in the Church.

In general men are meant to be leaders, in the church as in the home.
That does not mean that a women should never be allowed to preach, Deborah was a judge of Israel, for a while Priscilla was over her husband Aquila in their ministry.
If no man will do the will of God, He is will gladly use a woman to accomplish His will.

Answer is a clear NO!
1Corinthians 14:34/35
34"Let your women keep quiet in the churches: for it is NOT permitted unto them to speak; but they are COMMANDED to be under obedience, as also saith the law"
35." And if they will learn ANY THING, let them ask their Husbands at home: for it is a SHAME for women to speak in the church!"

Miriam ( Moses sister ) was a prophetess. Exodus 15:20

Esther ( who was Jewish ) was appointed by God to be Queen of Persia, and in turn saved her people from being exterminated. Book of Esther.

Judges 4:4,5
Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lapidoth, she judged Isreal at that time.
And she dwelt under the palm tree of Deborah between Ramah and Beth-el in mount Ephraim: and the children of Isreal came up to her for judgement.

If you read Judges you will clearly see that she performed military and legal duties in addition to being a prophetess.

What you missed in Corinthians; That whole section is referring to speaking in tongues and interpretation in church. At that time women were not allowed to prophesy or speak in church.

Orderly Worship

26 What then, brothers? When you come together, each one has a hymn, a lesson, a revelation, a tongue, or an interpretation. Let all things be done for building up. 27 If any speak in a tongue, let there be only two or at most three, and each in turn, and let someone interpret. 28 But if there is no one to interpret, let each of them keep silent in church and speak to himself and to God.

29 Let two or three prophets speak, and let the others weigh what is said. 30 If a revelation is made to another sitting there, let the first be silent. 31 For you can all prophesy one by one, so that all may learn and all be encouraged, 32 and the spirits of prophets are subject to prophets. 33 For God is not a God of confusion but of peace.

As in all the churches of the saints, 34 the women should keep silent in the churches. For they are not permitted to speak, but should be in submission, as the Law also says. 35 If there is anything they desire to learn, let them ask their husbands at home. For it is shameful for a woman to speak in church.

36 Or was it from you that the word of God came? Or are you the only ones it has reached? 37 If anyone thinks that he is a prophet, or spiritual, he should acknowledge that the things I am writing to you are a command of the Lord. 38 If anyone does not recognize this, he is not recognized. 39 So, my brothers, earnestly desire to prophesy, and do not forbid speaking in tongues. 40 But all things should be done decently and in order.

The bible also says you should never wear mixed fibers or eat shellfish. And there's something about selling one of your kids into slavery but only if your family really needs the money, or something like that.

The real question is, are you going to believe it just because it's in the bible?

You mean the same bible that was picked apart and put together by early male organized religious leaders, excluding many gospels and texts, including only the parts that would promote their patriarchal society? That bible? Horsepuckey!

Women preachers are allowed just as much as men. It was the custom back then that forbid women to speak in church and their lack of experience. Paul told them to keep quit because they were gossiping as well. Why would God forbid women to be pastors, yet allow them to be prophets? Doesn't make much sense.

Does that mean that women cannot carry the gospel to others?

Mat 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
