Underweight- a weight lower than normal and proper for the person under consideration. In children, underweight usually reflects slow or delayed development. In adults underweight is usually a sign of some underlying, but undiagnosed, disease condition. When this is corrected, a gain in weight can be expected. A high calorie diet alone will not put on weight if there is some pathological reason why the body cannot absorb and make flesh of the extra food ingested. A loss of weight, particularly a large or sudden loss, should prompt a thorough medical check-up. This is an important symptom of many serious diseases and should not be passed off lightly without a medical examination.
So please undergo a thorogh medical check-up.

Step one:

Calculate the amount of calories you intake each day. i.e. in a normal day.. calculate how many calories you eat in each meal/snack and add them up.

Step two:

When you've done that. From that point on... you should add 1000-2500 more calories per day.

Note... don't eat mcdonalds and fast food.. you'll only gain **FAT**...instead, eat steak .. carbs.. and make sure you eat 45g of protein..per day.... no fatty food that won't help.

BUT: subway and quiznos are okay.. because they aren't greasy.

And last but not least... work out... train for strength don't tone.
I.e. do 5 sets of 8 reps... in each weight lifting exercise... put on the heaviest weights (that you can barely lift)... and push yourself to the limit.

Bench presses
Arm curls
Squats

You also might want to use L-Glutamine ((** It's not a steriod..it's an amino acid~~~look it up**)) You can get it at any walgreens and/or pharmacy. for less than 6 bucks.

what I suggest is very costly because you need to buy alot of stuff that isn't junk.. and that fulfills your goal...

Trust me... I'm from South Africa (17 years old).. and I live in Chicago. I first came out here at **5'6" 135 lbs**..

Now I'm 6'0"... and 185 lbs..all that work was well worth it.
Get it done..
Good luck
