I'm sure it can be fun to breed an animal, but there are so many animals who need homes right now who are in shelters and who are strays. If I were you, I would think about where the puppies or kittens will go... do you have people that would commit to adopting one before you decide to breed? Because there are already so many who need homes... if you decide to, plan it out and make sure they would have people ready to adopt them.

Only dogs that are stellar examples of their breed should be bred. Only people who have lots of experience should breed their dogs. Will your dog be health checked and certified so that no genetic disorders will be passed on to the puppies? Will all the pet quality puppies be fixed? Will you have contracts for all the owners? Will you take back puppies at any time throughout their life? Has your dog won any working or showing titles? Will you refer those who aren't good homes for puppies to an adult rescue dog?

Please, for the sake of the millions of homeless dogs, do not breed your dog unless you can fulfill all the requirements of a responsible breeder. (and there are a lot!) If you are truly interested, take the time to learn from a mentor, attend breed events, and learn learn learn! If not, please leave breeding up to the professionals who care about the future of their breed. Please read the link below, it will be very helpful!

If you are going to breed her you should wait until her second heat. If she is a good quality dog and you breed her to a good male, and you can raise and sell healthy pups.. then you can.... if you want to take the considerable amount of time and work to do it right.
