I am a Christian pastor that worked many a second shift on Sunday in order to support my family and support the Church.
I has the Associate pastor take care of things on Sunday evening.
We were a small Church that still had bills to pay. You'd be surprised at the amount of gas it can take to heat even a small Church.
I made the decision to work second shift on Sunday because of the double time and it enabled me to keep the Church open during lean times as opposed to placing a burden on the congregation.
Would it be consider a sin?
I certainly pray that isn't the case.

If you need to survive why would it be a sin to work on a Sunday? As long as your keeping God in your heart and your not doing a job that hurts yourself or someone else.

Working has nothing to do on a Holy day, as long as you have prayed and thanked God for everything.

It is not a sin to work on Sundays, this is what your pastor, rabbi, etc. do, therefore not considered sinful. Pastors, rabbis, etc. generally take Mondays off as their religious holy day. In conclusion, as long as you take one day to respresent your holy day you should be glorified.
